Description
Location: Corridor at the Base of the Tower of Dawn; the Castle of Illusion"Okay Erica, you have a job to do," Luc dragged her down the stirs after himself.
"Thank you Master." Out the door, he slammed it shut and pushed her against it.
"You have a job to do."
"I didn't mean to-"
"No, you have a new job to do."
"What? I don't like that tone."
"Make sure that there is only one cat about at a time."
"What do you mean only one cat? Do you mean there's more than one cat demon?"
"One is enough for anyone, and mine is in the middle of slinking off to see the Princess."
"You know about that?"
"Do you think I'm stupid?"
"No Master, of course not sir."
"Chop chop, go attend to your mistress."
"What are you planning?"
"Oh, I'm not going to tell you, you'll just tell Xilef otherwise."
"What makes you say that Master?"
"Cause he'll ask, and you'll tell. So now, you are under orders not to tell Xilef of this conversation. If he is to ask, you tell him I was being kind to my servants. Now go attend your mistress, she'll be wanting help with that corset soon."
"Yes si- What have you been doing?"
"Ah, time for my escape," the vampire slunk into the shadows. She left towards the Midnight Tower, left puzzled by all he had said.

As she finished tying up the corset she looked over at the cat. By what Lucifer had said, she guessed this was Xilef. So, Lucifer knew of what the cat demon was up to, but the question was did he know the vampire knew? The problem was there was no way of asking him without it coming that Luc knew. After that it would only become confusing of who knew of knew of knowing. Shaking her head to clear it of the thoughts she turned her attention away from the cat; instead, trying to think of what Lucifer was planning.
I turned and looked at myself in the mirror. All the thoughts in my head were so messed up that near everything was confusing me. I smoothed down the front of my dress. Something really didn't feel right, but I didn't know what.
"I'm going to go walk about for awhile. Is that okay?"
"Yes Mistress," Erica answered. As I wandered down the stairs my hand trailed against the wall. Luc said if I was confused then I should follow what my heart tells me. But for too long I have followed the voice of reason, and now I am no longer sure where my heart lies.
Xilef leapt from the bed, shutting the door, his eyes set on Erica.
"Now tell me, what did Lucifer say?"
"He was helping out a servant."
"Really?" he put his chin at the base of her neck and looked up.
"Yes."
"Really?"
"Yes," she touched he end of his nose. He leaned his head further back and licked her finger. The demon stopped as he felt three fingers press against his throat. Because of their positioning he could feel his own heartbeat. His purr rattled through his throat. Through the bottom of his eyes he looked at her, his lips curling up at the corners.
"You were lying about my hair weren't you?"
"What do you think?" she let him stand up straight, turning her back on him.
"Of course you were," he put one paw on her hip, his left pushing her chin up. Along the right hand side of her neck he ran his tongue.
"You can't deny what you feel."

He turned as he heard the footsteps. Stood in the way was Amerisa. That strange feeling was back in his chest, paining him deeply. This time, however, he believed he knew what it was, what was causing him to pain him so.
"Hi," he smiled calmly, but deep inside his thoughts were throwing him about. The vampire cast his eyes upon her, and without quite knowing why he felt a great sadness. As his eyes settled on her face he knew exactly why. In all the time she had been here, she had never once looked him in the eye. True they had not been in each others presence often, but it still pained him that she would not meet his eye. But in the chest where most vampires felt emptiness, another thing stirred. Beneath the emerald outside the red mist was wanting to rise. Under his lips his fangs seemed to sharpen, but in his mind he tried to curb his will. So much he wanted to kiss her with a fiery passion, so much he wanted to hold her in his arms, to have her one shade fuller skin next to his, to lap at her skin, to run his fingers through her hair and down her back, to hold her close, to feel her warmth, to take in her scent, to sink his teeth into the right hand side of her neck and make her his forever more. He blinked hard, trying to stop all those thoughts. As much as he wanted it, he couldn't let it happen. That was falling into the first steps of vampirism, not something he wanted to fully embrace.
"Luc?" her voice brought him back. He looked up, inside deeply saddening.
'Everything will be in place soon.'
