Description Location: The Bridal Chamber
I looked up as the door opened again, their majesties stood there.
"It's time," the King told me, I stood and he took my arm. Since my birth I had always been treated as something unwanted. This was probably one of the few times they had noticed me, and it was just to cast me away. As the doors opened I looked up at the upper levels and reminded myself why I was doing this, and plastered a smile across my face. I stepped in time with my father, until I got to the front, where upon he handed me over. I looked up at the man, at his black hair and his sarcastic blue eyes. At his first glance he had a fake smile on his face; but then he turned and looked at me properly, and his fake smile turned to a smirk. I cast my gaze away, and taking a deep breath in I stood to my full height. He stood at least half a head taller than myself.
"Guess I'm marrying you then," there was a laugh in his voice.
"You make it sound like it's a match made in heaven."
"I might be half ready to agree with that."

Location: A new column on the colonnade
"By the Gods, she is beautiful," he looked down, "I'd love to know your name." He paused momentarily as he thought he saw some blue hair, but the next moment it was gone; and so was he as he slipped into position.

Xilef was pushed back from the balustrade but his amber eyes caught a strange disappearing act, someone just vanishing into darkness. His eyes had barely caught the motion, which meant none of the humans would have. Looking back down he saw the Princess had entered. She walked down the aisle next to the King, and the groom remained facing away from her. On her face he saw a smile, but he could tell it was completely fake. How? Because he had a near identical look on his own face.
"Why are you agreeing to this?" he muttered under his breath. This wedding confirmed the information he had found, for there was no love in the air, only pain; and the crowd was blind to the truth. All they saw down there was a beautiful rose, they didn't see the thorns constraining her. None of them saw the great sacrifice she was making for all of them to save them from an ongoing war. She, their princess, was willing to give up everything for them, and none of them knew it. They saw a joyous occasion, not the heart wielding pain; and most certainly none of them saw the vampire in their midsts, trying to talk to a princess he'd seen in the middle of the night; nor himself the demon, trying to stop his greatest friend from breaking a peace treaty and getting himself killed. The girl had reached the altar now, and even with the hat on, he could hear the whispered conversation taking place.
"I feel your sorrow," he mouthed, "But there's nothing I can do, this is your fate contrived." He allowed the crowd to pull him back, feeling hatred to all of them because of how blind they were. Getting to the back of the group he disappeared, trying to locate Lucifer.

Location: The Front Row
The knife was pressed at the small of his back; next to him, the wielder of the blade, was a nobleman from the Dusk.
"Why shouldn't I speak up? You're only going to kill me anyway," he said out of the side of his mouth.
"Aren't you smart, but we need your sister married first."
"Yu plan to make her the sole heir, thus meaning your country rules both. Has that been the plan all along?"
"Oh no, the monarchs want peace, but my Prince wants ultimate rule."
"So remind me why you're threatening to kill me right now."
"If you say I object, then I'll paralyse you from the waist down."
"I'm not going to let her do something she doesn't want to do."

Location: Behind the Altar
Xilef poked his small head out from behind the altar, his ears pricking, his eyes slitting.
'That's the guy who wanted to kill me just because of his falcon. And now he's got a knife to the crown prince's back. This is much darker than first perceived.' He wasn't paying attention to any of the words the priest was saying. His eyes scanned about for the vampire, but he couldn't find him. For a moment his attention turned to the priest.
"Does anyone have any reason why these two should not be wed?"
'Oh crap.'

I was half wanting someone to say something. Looking across at my husband-to-be I saw an over self-confident grin. Before I could look at him with disdain something grabbed me making me lose breath. Something rested on my left shoulder, pushing my head to the right.
"I found you again." Then everything went black.

He came out of the darkness, right at the altar. Pushing her head to the right he leant his cheek on her shoulder.
"I found you again," he whispered in her ear. Putting his right hand on her shoulder he disappeared with her. Just as he disappeared a flicker of confusion flashed across his eyes, he could have sworn he saw a cat on the altar.

Xilef jumped, but hit nothing as the vampire had already disappeared. He turned to see that the nobleman who so hated him had jumped to his feet. Before he knew it h was grabbed by the scruff of his neck and looking into the Prince of Dusk's eyes.
"And here I thought cats were meant to be lucky at a wedding."
"Not this one, he killed my best falcon," the noble went to grab the cat, but the Prince held him away.
"Are you telling me, Leon, that you have a grudge against a cat?"
"Please sire, may I have the cat?" a snarl entered his voice.
"Fine," he passed the cat over.
"Thank you master," he bowed his head then turned on the feline, "Now I'm going to rip you apart like you did my falcon."
"Like hell you are," Xilef hissed, pushing back and turning into his demon form. He, however, didn't leave without having first slashed the noble's face. The whole cathedral came into a shocked silence as they cast their eyes on the cat demon. Standing to his full height he curled his lips back, hating how he was nearly a head shorter than the nobleman.
"How dare yo-"
"Did momma never tell you not to mess with cat demons?" he jeered, knowingly antagonizing the noble more.
"I'm going to slice you," he took his hand from his face, revealing four deep red lines dripping blood.
"You try and I'll dice you," Xilef unsheathed all his claws as the man put a hand to his sword hilt, "And believe me, I'm quicker off the mark."
"Look, cat, what happened to the princess?"
"Like you care, you're a megalomaniac, not five minutes ago you had your friend putting a blade to the crown prince's back. What would you care about the Princess? Princess … oh crap, he still doesn't realise what he's done."
"Who's done what?" the Dusk Prince asked.
"The Prince," the demon began to wallow in his own self-loathing as he realised everything, "Oh God. Nope, there is no god, otherwise he'd have given … he gave me the big pillow didn't he, God gave me a big pillow. Why the hell couldn't he have given the vampire prince sense?"
"What do you mean by the vampire prince?" the crown prince of Morn grabbed him by the collar.
"I think I've said too much," his rear claws didn't even scrape the ground. Xilef rarely had moments that he couldn't get out of, and as the thing at his wrist changed colour he was thankful that this wasn't one of them.
'Okay, now I am grateful for Luc's inheritance.'
"Looks like it's time for me to go," he clicked his right claws. A blue circle with strange writing appeared at his feet, and the next moment the cat demon and circle had disappeared.
