Description
And now for something completely different.Depicted here is my impression of what the circa 2017/2018 Russian Federation Enlisted Parade Uniform could look like if it was in use today. Only the proposed tunic design was ever revealed leaving the rest up to informed speculation. At the start of the year, I stumbled across the following image in a Russian language uniformology forum. I sadly lost the link but not before I had send it over to RedSamurai84's page & he fortunately reposted it (www.facebook.com/RedSamurai84/… ). The image depicts a design for an enlisted parade tunic in addition to the general's and officer's tunics around the time they were released. Since that image, only the other two tunics have been rolled-out as of yet. As to whether this design is also rolled out, only time will tell.
Upon first glance, the colour is dark-green (somewhat reminiscent of the Alexander III enlisted troops & the contemporary Rosgvardia enlisted parade uniforms). The tunic features the return of the iconic collar tabs which were prevalent in the Cold War times. It generally resembles the enlisted tunics of the Stalinist times.
Here we see what a Moscow Higher Military Command School Officer Cadet could look like.
Apart from what one can tell, I had to make a few assumptions on what the rest of the uniform could look like. The creative liberties taken include:
- keeping the M2016 enlisted parade belt
- assuming shoulder patches follow the format used in officer uniforms & the <2015 enlisted parade uniform
- assuming there is a visor hat which has distinctions similar to previous enlisted vs. officer uniforms (i.e. no wreathed cockade, a black visor chinstrap, no crown eagle)
- assuming there would be breeches & jackboots (especially as this is now increasingly common amongst ceremonial enlisted parade groups post-2019)
Credits:
Grand-Lobster-King for the initial base design & outer-cockade design which were both modified heavily
TheRanger1302 whose incredibly helpful tool base was used before being circumstantially changed. Heavily modified components include the belt. Unmodified components include the boots & hands.
Gir1010 for some general face design changes
Luke27262 for the left shoulder patch (modified in terms of colours) & aiguillette parts
Components built from scratch include the inner-oval cockade design, the belt buckle, academy shoulder patch, collar tabs, badges, and main colouring. Other original additions include changing the proportions of the peaked hat, changing the proportion of the standing collar, re-aligning the button positioning, changing the red shade, creating the inner button design, the Motorised Rifles insignia, parts of the aiguillette and modifying the proportions of collar piping.
EDIT: 16/08: Switched fully to Ranger base
