Description
For almost a week I have been working on this picture. It has been fun butalso a lot of work has been put into it.
I have tried to accomplish to get the athmosphere and the light we have
at the moment here in Denmark right before sunset.
It is these opposites - the cold snow - and the warm glow, that makes it
so inviting though it is still very cold to be there. Decieving and interesting.
I would like to thank the following stock-artists
who have contributed to this work.
The model:
with
The owl:
with
The background:
with
Textures and brushes from my own ressources.

Oh! This is so beautiful! I love this new kind of elf culture. You never really see elves in cold places I suppose... so this is really cool! I totally want to read a story about this now.
Anyway, super awesome! <3

Oh yes - there are many elves in cold places. If you read the northern mythologies
they are just wearing fur from wild animals and stuff.
Thank you so much for your kind comments

looks nice, but where is the difference mixed media and manipulation??

In mixed media you have used something else than just the
manipulation of photos.
I have for example painted a lot by hand in this one - it
could also be if I had put something into the picture that
was made in another program such as Poser or another 3D program.
Or if I had put in some handpainted flowers.
All in all - - mixed media - the use of several medias in one picture.
Thank you so much for your comment

Really Awesome scene you've created, Lovely in every way. The whole picture blends beautifully....I tried to do something with this model just a couple of weeks ago, my backround was too much like the backround she is in, in the original picture. Needless to say I haven't finished that project. Yours turned out fantastic!

Thank you so very much for your kind words.
Yes I have worked a lot on this picture - and it took me a long
time to find the right background too. I did not want it to
look like the one that was already there. I tried to go by
something different - then I wanted to do something with the light
in this - so it took me a long time to find the right things.
Good luck with your picture

Yes, it was impossible for me to find just the right backround...with the lighting and then I thought of a bear, wolf etc etc in the backround and finally after hours of frustration I put it on the back burner. Its hard to find 2 subjects with the light source similar especially when one of the subjects has a clear light source. Yours looks great!

yes I know what you mean - the owl I had to make
the lighting totally - the good thing was it had
no lighting to speak up from the get go. Then
it is easier to work with too.

This is gorgeous Susanne. You have certainly obtained your objective in this artwork. The atmosphere and lighting balanced against the cold and warmth is superb and gives it a most inviting feel.
