Description years before the start of Monsters, Zack was an ordinary boy living with his parents in Shinto. The great fire caused by the contents of the Holy Grail spilling out at the end of the Fourth Holy Grail War killed both his parents and left him mortally wounded within the blaze.

Zack was subsequently raised as a child soldier and later fought in the country's Civil War. He and other children were shown Hollywood action films daily for "image training," and were given food mixed with gunpowder containing toluene to make them more controllable.
Under Solidus, Jack became a killing machine, known alternately as the "Crimson" and "The Ripper" or "the Killer of Killer" due to his incredibly high kill rate compared to other boys his age, as well as a reference to his being one of the few Caucasians born in Liberia. Armed with a gun at the age of six, he would later remember it as an AK rifle, as well as a knife, he proved to be a superior soldier, rising to become captain of the Small Boy Unit at ten. His skills with a bladed weapon, as well as his cruelty in dispatching enemies with them, was another reason for his "Ripper" nickname.
Due to his unusually aggressive tendencies and tremendous fighting potential, Ikutsuki regarded Sho as his favorite test subject. As part of the experiment, named "Project Puppetmaster," Ikutsuki isolated Zack from the world to prevent him from forming ordinary bonds and ensure that he would become the ideal soldier, relying on combat alone to connect to others. Zack came to bond with Ikutsuki and view him as a father figure even so, a role which Ikutsuki accepted as a means to manipulate Zack.
Eventually, without Solidus' knowledge, he was later removed by a non-governmental organization and taken to the United States. Jack and other surviving members of the Small Boy Unit then underwent extensive amounts of counseling before becoming at least outwardly stable.
At the age of 12, Zack was put in an orphanage a few days after the bloodshed on Higgins Haven, it got caught in the middle of a new bloodshed, in which a new group of people were killed one after another by Jason Voorhees. When Zack and the older girl Trish were the only two left alive, Zack lured the murderer into a trap. Trish managed to tear off Jason's mask with his machete, which made him turn away from Zack to face her. While Trish was unable to do anything, Zack picked up the machete and delivered the killing blow to Jason. When the boy realized only a moment later that the man was still alive, he swiftly cut off  Jason with the machete. And in that moment Trish saw something terrifying cover. blood she saw Zack smile with the eyes of the killer.

Later Zack was sent to a clinic. He meets Detective Alex Rico, who is annoyed by the Jason claims and put off by Tommy's behavior. It is vaguely implied Rico came to Crystal Lake sometime after the urban legend of Jason came to be. He is assigned to child psychologist Lauren Marino, who makes friends with him and wants to help him.
A year after being institutionalized, Zack has been through four programs, having been kicked out of Westin, Smith's Grove, Glen Echo, and New Orlean Psychiatric, expressing depression over his belief that he'll never get better. Lauren sends him to the Unger Institute near Crystal Lake in the hopes that confronting his fear will help him, which he is reluctant of. Pinehurst's mission was to try to train its residents to re-enter society. On the same day that Zack was sent there, Joey Burns, one of the residents, was killed by Vic Faden. Shortly after, a maniac started to kill people using Jason's M.O., which made Sheriff Tucker believe it was really Jason Voorhees. After Pam Roberts, Reggie Winter, and Zack were left as the sole survivors, there was a confrontation with whom was believed to be the real Jason Voorhees, and then, after Zack killed the murderer, they found out he was actually Roy Burns, and that Joey was his son, whose murder was the reason for the new killing spree.
Zack is transferred to Pinehurst without Lauren's knowledge, her being notified after Joey is killed, with Tommy's presence at the time raising suspicion. Zack meets Rico again after Roy's killing spree and death, refusing to cooperate since all the necessary information is apparently gathered. Zack later tells Lauren he is being moved to Pinehurst, closer to Crystal Lake, was his idea, thinking it would be more effective. He expresses the fear that he has become Jason and is dangerous, revealing he had a dream of killing Pam in Jason's mask. Before they could moved Zack back to Unger, he runs away leaving Lauren worry scared for a little boy, while Detective Alex Rico is scared that their a killer in the making
Find in the slums of the poor side of Gotham City, 12 year old Zack turned to crime, ripping off car parts for money. Zack was left alone on the streets barely surviving, still stealing parts of cars for cash. This led to Batman discovering Zack in an alley stealing the tires off the Batmobile.
Bruce Wayne tried to put Jason in Ma Gunn's school for troubled youths but Jason ran away from the school when he realized it was actually a front for criminal activity. With that option off the table, Bruce took him in as his own and began training him to replace Dick Grayson as Robin. He did not have Dick's cheerful enthusiasm or natural acrobatic skill, but life had made him tough and full of sarcastic wit which made Jason motivated. Secretly, Bruce believed that had he not taken Jason into his home then in a few years time he would be taking Jason in to the police as Batman. So instead, Jason became the Black Crow.

Unlike Ken Grayson, Zack was cold, ruthless and hints of bloodlust in the boy.  Both where meant to face "the Gauntlet", their final test to become Skull Wing's. him and Zack assumed facing off against each and their rivalry was born. Soon, it was realized that the real Gauntlet had gone awry and Alfred, disguised as Two-Face as part of the gauntlet, was being held hostage by Killer Croc. Ken and Zack worked together to get to the warehouse, defeat Killer Croc and free Alfred. When it was all over, Ken came to accept Jason as his partner being his right hand when things get rough with the other Wingman.
Zack and Ken tend to butt heads with each other over courses of action due to their differing personalities. However, Zack never wants to betray Ken or the rest of the team no matter how much they bicker. They became closer in episode "Murder Music", and perform maintenance on their G Machines together. Ken began to understand Zack's temper when Ken himself developed a temper after the loss of his father. It was not long before Ken became more aggressive that even Joe did not agree with him. Ken and Zack found more common ground each time their fight against Galactor War Party Cross became more strenuous. Ken and Zack demonstrated their hate for Galactor in episode "Leona III, The Space Ship With No Tomorrow" while fighting over each other to launch the doomsday missile and trying to overcome the difficult decision. While they cared for each other, they were equally stubborn.
After six months of training, Jason was ready to go into action as the new Boy Wonder. In his early adventures, Robin assisted Shadow Skull, Batwomen, Wolverine, Red Robin, and the other Wingmen against notable criminals like Two-Face, Mime, the Crime Doctor, The KGBeast, Deacon Blackfire and Galactor War Party Cross. While working on this last case, Jason became more aggressive and driven against criminals.

As the years went by, Jason became more and more delusional of fighting crime with barely little results. Zack stars questioning him and his methods
The Dragon hired the Joker to distract Batman and Robin. One night, Robin thought that he was saving an innocent woman from evil thugs, but it was just a trap set by the Joker and the woman was Harley Quinn in disguise, who then knocked out Tim. The Joker then tortured him for days at the old abandoned hideout and stated that leaving him alive would ensure Jason would kill off Gotham's criminals sooner or later. He then started beating him to death with a crowbar and ordered his henchmen to take Harley away when she asked him to stop. During the attack, Freeing himself from the chair, he attacked Joker and bit him again, jeering that ghouls were indeed made to compete and that it could not be help that Joker could be devoured, too.
During the attack, Freeing himself from the chair, he attacked Joker and bit him again, jeering that ghouls were indeed made to compete and that it could not be help that Joker could be devoured, too.
Batman however soon arrived and told him to stop, but Joker instead gave his gang the orders to shoot, forgetting that the hydrogen in the tanks lying around was combustible. Before Batman could get to Jason hideout exploded, Joker Missing and both Shadow Skull and Zack live but for Zack barely his burn and fry it took surgery to start the healing process but unknown to Skull this surgery was the next step to his evo.
Over night a dark forces come taking Zack to a Realms where he and other Survivors to fight for is live

The Entity, a supernatural being hailing from the ancient blood web, is awakened from its slumber and summoned by actions of great violence and malice. The killers, mostly serial murderers, or victims of terrible tragedy, are pulled out of reality by it and convinced or forced to do its bidding. In order to maintain its existence, the Entity requires sacrifices, and demands that they hunt and kill the survivors so it can feed off their hope and steal a piece of their souls upon death. In order to continue this hunt, The Entity blocks off the Gateways of death and puts the dead into a dreamlike state that leads the survivors back to The Entity's world to get hunted again.
The survivors are pulled into the Entity's constructed world when they wander too close to the places the killers were taken from, disappearing from the real world without a trace. They end up at a lonely campfire, where they rest between trials, until a killer pursues them again. Each trial takes place in a series of realms constructed by the Entity of areas from where the killers were taken. The survivors' only hope of escape is to complete a series of generators scattered throughout each realm to power up large gates to escape. If the killer has killed all but one survivor, the Entity will offer the latter a final means of escape in the form of a hatch. Escaping from the grounds always takes the survivors back to the campfire, and offerings can be created to be burnt at it and appeal for the Entity's favour. Since the Entity feeds off the hope of the survivors to escape, it helps them just as much as the killers, acting as an impartial observer of the hunt, stepping in only to claim those hung on its hooks.
After may trial fight’s, betrayal, and kills, Zack proven to be the deadliest survivors turn killer and, in the end, The Entity give Zack a gift, ancient, sentient Scythe, that battles with him for control. Zack  would be one of the few to leaven Realms, and with him a hunger a hunger he thought was buried fight blood and, in a world, full of  hero and villain their there plenty of that to go around.
