You should pay more attention to detail before accusing anyone of stealing someones else work.
If you look closely enough you can notice all the different elements on the "copy". So just because it's BioWorkZ's style, it doesn't mean that she's doing something wrong.Β  Β

Are you kidding me? It's plagiarism! People have even posted on her wall on facebook & she took them down, she's not even denying it! The elephant isn't even drawn in a different pose! It's a bad replica because she's not as good! You honestly think it's right for her to rip him off & make profit off it? I know for a fact I wasn't the only one to contact him regarding this issue. but thanks for your concern.Β

where did you study to learn how to do this ornate style of drawing??? your an amazing artist.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BioWorkZ In reply to RKB344 [2013-05-07 17:36:46 +0000 UTC]

I've always been into very complex detailed type of art. But my inspiration was from Iain Macarthur. If you like my ornate style, you'll love his for sure.

so who came first, you or Iain Macarthur?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BioWorkZ In reply to zombiepunked [2013-05-04 19:21:13 +0000 UTC]

Iain Macarthur for sure. I was very inspired by his work. It's my objective to take it to the next level or let it evolve into whatever it'll be.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

zombiepunked In reply to BioWorkZ [2013-05-16 23:32:23 +0000 UTC]

in my opinion, you should try and do your own thing. take what you've learned of course but dont be a copy cat

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BioWorkZ In reply to zombiepunked [2013-05-17 01:42:07 +0000 UTC]

I guess it's a matter of opinion. He has his own style and I have mine. Sure we both use ornate patterns and decorations, but overall, it's pretty different. My intention is to evolve and take this look to another level. I have no intention of being a "copy cat". But I appreciate your honest opinion. Hopefully, in the future, you can appreciate what I'm doing.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BioWorkZ In reply to Thea-Nu [2012-12-09 18:50:23 +0000 UTC]

I guess you can call me a "professional artist". I mainly create artwork for t-shirts. Been in the industry for about 8 years now.

BioWorkZ In reply to Thea-Nu [2012-12-10 22:56:15 +0000 UTC]

I probably work the same way as you. The only difference is that I spend 40 hours a week create artwork I'm not fond of. But hey, it's a job right? :/

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Thea-Nu In reply to BioWorkZ [2012-12-11 01:33:41 +0000 UTC]

That's what I'm afraid of, that it just becomes a job :/

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

BioWorkZ In reply to Thea-Nu [2012-12-11 02:20:04 +0000 UTC]

Well, I do find some projects very rewarding. Never art I would ever create for myself, but that's part of the challenge too. Like the vintage graphics I did for Lucky Brand. Initially, I absolutely hated everything about the whole vintage Americana vibe. But after doing it for awhile, there's more to it, and more the appreciate. Now I don't work at Lucky Brand anymore, I still find myself being drawn to the whole vintage look. So having a full-time job is good. It forces me to do things I wouldn't normally do, and it made me a stronger artist. Lame to admit, but it makes me more marketable. I'm capable of creating different styles, looks, vibes, techniques, etc.

But than you'll have to ask yourself. Do you want to be a "Jack of all trades" or a "master" of one technique?
