What genre of Musical? I'm in theater myself.

I don't have many specifics worked out yet. I want it to be centered around Jonathan Coulton's music, and I've e-mailed him about it. So far, I have the green light for anything non-profit.

Jonathan Coulton's a good artist. I have a few of hi albums. I like Our Bodies, Ourselves, Our Cybernetic Arms; and The Aftermath best. My favorite song by him is off of The Aftermath and it's called Octopus. Have you heard it?

I like its light feel. Octopus has a more calming effect on me in contrast. I find it ironic that those are the two songs I like most by this artist.

I Feel Fantastic is great, but it does kinda wear on you. Listening to it too often makes me think "Oh, it's I Feel Fantastic. Again." Catchy songs are kinda cursed to deal with that sort of issue. I usually don't skip it though.

You're right in that way; it does wear on you after a while. Songs like that if played too often make them less enjoyable.

I especially hate the kind of person who hears a single radio hit by a particular band and then thinks they "love" that band.

I think a band's real songs are the obscure ones that very few people have heard of and ever fewer people have actually listened to.

I think at the heart of a band's real songs, you'll see their true style, and the passion they put into their music. Catchy songs just don't have that same sort of thing. Radio stations just don't play those, most of the time. The song doesn't have to be obscure, it's just like that more often than not.
