I did finally find a program that 'sort of did what I wanted' so I'll tweak the settings on it a bit to get what I want.

Kewl! How do you like it so far? I think that "Dolphin" gives you image previews, right? I've tried it out on a live CD.

Well, It wouldn't be hard for someone with some skills to put together a distro with the tools renamed the way that site had them...

Yes I agree and would be a hoot its a great logo for a Linux Distro and a name i looked it up on wikipedia and it is a lightweight LXDE distro

LXDE is truly lightweight. Though, I think for effect and looks Enlightenment would be the best desktop to use.

Elive - I used to have a disk with that some time back. It was ok, at that time it didn't support the hardware I had.

I know I went back a few post to respond here, but I decided to check something - and well, this Open Artist installed KDE, Gnome(default), Enlightenment, and several variants on FXCE, IceWM, etc... Needless to say I'm running Enlightenment right now, but will probably move to KDE...

I always preferred the KDE.but do like the new ( June 2009 ) version of PC Linux O/s 2009.2 in Gnome and run that every day..

I spoke too soon, I tried to boot into KDE and it's not 'fully loaded' and crashed, when I tried to install it's missing parts, it refused to install them...

For KDE i like SuSe or Knoppix those are the only two distros that i feel have the authentic 3.5 series KDE still out there. as for 4.2 and 4.3 I tried Fedora it was bug city but pretty tried the vs 10 and 11 ( but was a fedora fenatic back to build 6 ) ..I tried the Kubuntu's but I really like the KDE 4.0 as it had a nice deep blue look and now with all the plasm and oxygen do's and gets its starting to become a memory hog...even though it is way way way less than Vista ..builds are starting to unpack to the size of a loaded XP Pro ie about 4.8-6gb per installation....I remember Knoppix 3.6 with KDE 3.0 and Mozilla Application Suite ( before it became iceape or seamonkey )...but everything past install were root code in's ...so today's Linux in any flavor is MUCH MUCH better in its apt get or synaptic package managers
I'm anxious to try the new 64 bit Ubuntu 9.10 ..next month

SiathLinux In reply to Alembic-Lynx [2009-10-18 05:53:24 +0000 UTC]
I actually liked Kubuntu for the 64bit (I had a desktop with the 64 bit AMD till the board upchucked)... the version I had was 7.04 with 3.5 KDE...
I would love to have all that this Open Artist distro has but on a clean Kubuntu install... that may be my next 'evolution' in my Linux usage...
