I don't like brighter lights on vehicles, though many 3d artist are good at making the model look better with the lighting, it just seems to make mine look washed out.

I really use very basic lighting on my rim/tire renders - usually single spot light at .5 power and 5 distance, set to bright white or high white/blue (used the bright white for this particular rim)

Yeah, I'm all good - playing with Blender 2.5.2 Beta 2 right now... it's 'interesting' and I think I'll be doing some tutorials for it since it's SO different than before.

Looks good, but it kinda reminds me of a solid forklift tire. Even for a low profile tire, there just doesn't seem to be enough tire.

Have you seen some of the 265ZR45 series?

Thanks for the comment

no actually I havent. I deal mostly with motorcycle tires. Are they actually getting that thin now?

Yeah, to the point that hitting a small pothole dents the rim

WrenchMan In reply to SiathLinux [2010-05-27 22:39:14 +0000 UTC]

that's just stoo-ped. That probably explains why I haven't seen any here. The pot holes here couls swallow a mack truck
