Hmm... alright, I think I have some tricks up my sleeve then.
Waiting for it to leave won't help at all, in such situation. The best things you can do are:

Start listening to inspirational music, think about your characters with that music. Kind of like a music video. Then start doodling out scenes inspired by the music videos playing in your head. Most of the poses and expressions will be difficult to draw, but it will help you a lot.
I suggest to listen to playlist from these groups: Two Steps From Hell, Killer Tracks, Audiomachine, Epic Score, Future World Music, Immediate Music.

Read some tutorials on how to draw something - examples: water, metal, crystals, even anatomy - and follow the tutorial step by step, trying to add your own little bits to what you're painting. This can be extremely frustrating, but also very refreshing for your skills and art style.

JUST DOODLE THE SHIT OUT OF THAT PHOTOSHOP CANVAS / PAPER SHEET.

You have characters, right? Perfect. Take a pen or open Microsoft Word / Open Office and start writing as many details about them as possible. Name, age, birthday, species, the hell you want, add it to the canvas. Then start writing their backstory, adding details. One useful thing is also to write down some questions and let the character reply to them, AS MUCH IN CHARACTER AS POSSIBLE.
"Do you like travelling?"
Character - Hell no. Never been much of a traveler, I prefer staying in a place where I know everyone and everything. I don't even feel secure in cities I have never been to.
This is usually a massive help for character developing and to break your artist block ;D
