The best thing you can do is search on internet after photoshop tutorials with effects.

I have learned a lot of them. For example about photoshops adjustment layers and filters that i always use and different blending modes and opacity.

The burn and dodge tool are important to learn to or you can use a clipping mask on overlay blending mode and paint with black and white on low opacity on dark and light areas on the different objects you use in a manipulation, for better contrasts to get a nice effect.

I have done a lots of tutorials, it's a very good way to learn, i think

If i should explain everything in mails it would take months and my fingers would get hurt of all writing

For an example search on this frase and se what gets up...... photoshop effects tutorials.
