Jeremiah 21:8 And unto this people thou shalt say, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I set before you the way of life, and the way of death. *** There are many passages of The word of God, be it the old testament, the Quran or the New testament, that may be disturbing. But the LORD in his wisdom has said that there is a way of life and a way of death therein. We are to follow the way of life, and preach that which is of life and not death. Unfortunatley many follow the way of death and preach death unto others. Turning from the Ten Commandments, and following the counsel of there own hearts instead of The Lord's. Anything found within our sacred texts that goes against the Ten Commandments should not be followed and should not be taught as the will of God / Allah. I believe that the Book of Daniel shows more of a way of life, by casting down the thrones of man and offering a throne to The Ancient of Days, The Lord God Almighty, The Eternal Living God. The Book of Revelation shows a much more grimm picture, that will happen if we fail to choose a way of life. The urge to proclaim Gods / Allah's will by our own hands comes from a kind of shame in our belief and having to kill in the name of God, to prove his existence is a shame we must not adhere to. Our Father loves even the evil man that turns good, and killing someone before they have this chance is pre-emptive of God, and a shame unto to us all. The Holy Quran And His Commandments I am certain that I have read in the Holy Quran that a person shall not be put through more than they can handle, whether at the hand of man or God, and beheading I would think is more than a person can handle, (IS, ISIL etc . Regardless of this, the commandment that, “Thou Shalt Not Kill” should also confirm the will of Our Father. The Disregard of The Ten Commandments, is the turning our backs on God and his kingdom, in our effort to assert humanities laws over the supreme law of God. Many books of the bible and others such as the 2nd Esdras, spell out the anger of God at our turning our backs on The Ten Commandments, The Law of Musa/Moses, and the state of the world would show that such disregard is a major flaw in the evolution of our societies. So for a refresher course here are the Ten Commandments. Surat Al-Baqarah (The Cow) 2:286 Sahih International Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity. It will have [the consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned. "Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people." The 10 Commandments List, Short Form 1. God is light, and the owner of his light. There are different kinds of light and God's light is alive. Early Israel lived with his light in the temple and tabernacle, they also received manna. God's light is not the light of a fire burning, nor the shining of a star. His light is everywhere and he can let you see it or not. In him is no darkness, and through light we have truth, because we can see and know. With truth we have wisdom and knowledge. Through these things we have love, and God is love, so a living light that gives truth, wisdom and knowledge, which is love, and alive is everywhere as light is a wave and waiting for you to acknowledge and learn to accept as your life depends on it whether you believe it or not. This is true to me and that's enough to change my life as it has and does. This is faith which is powerful and optimistic, and effects me in a manner that can make life more liveable and be a relief to a broken heart. A form of light that most of us have never seen. A light that can be seen and according to Israel has been seen. Knowledge and wisdom create a kind of faith because you know and expect things to be such. Seems more like a conversation about light, what is light and are there other forms? And I believe in the light because I can see it, I know what light is, or so I think. So it's not hard to believe in a being that is light, especially if you think there could be other forms. He has only ever shown himself as a form of light or the burning bush so another form of light. My own inner evidence but other than that only hearsay. Do we as yet know everything about light? I don't think we do or ever will. Why can't light be what first existed? We made a form of light, lasers, didn't we? Light can hold data as we see in fibre optics today. According to the Wahabies Allah is literally above the throne without ever leaving it, AND literally in the sky of the world in the last third of the night (i.e. always, because the Earth is round, so it is always the last third of the night somewhere.) Anyone see a problem here? Then they say it is blasphemy to say that Allah is inside His creation (even though the sky of the world is below the other six created skies above it)…. Then, seemingly just to add to this mess, some of them also say that He is literally in the seventh sky. Not only that, they also say He is literally encompassing the world and yet they also say it is kufr to believe He is mixed with it. So in their belief, He is encompassing the world (thus a surface outside creation’s borders), and in the first Sky (deep inside creation, below 6 other skies), and yet it is kufr to say He is mixed with creation or enters it. And I beheld Akatriel Yah LORD of Hosts sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up.” "Throne of God" Both Isaiah and Daniel describe visions of God seated upon a throne (Is. 6; Dan. 7). As the archetypal symbol of God's gevurah, God's power, the Throne of Glory is one of the six things that preexists Creation (Gen. R.1:4). God threw a chuck of the Throne into the abyss and the cosmos coagulated around it (Midrash Konen 2:24). The throne is represented on the Ark of the Covenant as two Cherubim whose wings form God's "Seat of Mercy." Isaiah offers a vision in which God sits upon that throne. The earth is the footstool of God's throne. <a target="_blank" href="https://automutt.deviantart.com/">[link]</a> DRB below, The Bible speaks of this interpretation of God's throne, and Daniel proclaims that the end will come when the thrones of earth are cast down and then humanity shall offer the throne and kingship to God, this is the way of peace, the way of life, the Bible talks of, as opposed to the way of death, such as the apocalypse and so on. The Book of Daniel is being made real and true, now, in this time, as the blessed decendents of Ishmael, the Islamic tribes, are uprising and casting down the dynasties and thrones above them, in the Arab spring, we see in Egypt, Tunisia, Syria, Libya, Bahrain, Yemen and elsewhere. The thrones, the kingships are being cast down, and we are seeing the fulfillment of prophecy in our time. God never wanted us to have kings, he was opposed to it for a long time, and after much complaint by the tribes of Israel and Judah, he allowed us to have one, before that he was all for us having judges delivering his law. Judge, like Judah, his tribe of note. So we got our first king Saul, who turned out to be a failure and corrupt, and even his most favoured king, David, turned out to perplex him with problems of excessive celebration and overt sexuality. The viruses became wire-like devices that could very efficiently split the oxygen from water molecules. Belcher says that within two years she expects to have a prototype device that can carry out the whole process of splitting water into oxygen and hydrogen, using a self-sustaining and durable system. The work could help protect equipment and personnel while advancing research in the unique world of metamaterials. "If you have a ship being hit by a laser, and it was made of this metamaterial, you could reflect the laser beam," said Simin Feng, one of the study co-authors and a researcher at China Lake.Unlike normal materials, which derive their properties largely from the chemicals that comprise them, metamaterials are artificially made materials that get their properties from their physical structures. The material Feng and her co-author Klaus Halterman, also of China Lake, have theorized would be made of three layers of conventional materials, with the metamaterials sandwiched between the three layers. Since the material would be thin it should be easily applied and "wouldn't weigh things down," said Halterman. There are several kinds of metamaterials. Some, like the "invisibility cloak" developed by Duke University Researchers in 2006, channel certain wavelengths of light around a hidden object. Others, like the Navy's, have what is called a negative refractive index. Stick a straw into a glass of water. The parts above and below the water point in slightly different directions. That's a positive refractive index, and is the case for nearly all materials. A negative refractive index would occur if you tried to stick the straw into the water and it bounced back at the exact but opposite angle it entered the water. Now imagine the straw is instead a powerful laser. A ship made of conventional materials struck by such a laser would be sliced in half. Not only would this ship reflect the beam, the more powerful the beam, the stronger the reflection would be, notes Halterman. Like all optical metamaterials, their unique properties work only if the size of the structure is smaller than the wavelength of light being used. Since the Navy metamaterial would use very small structures it should repel nearly all lasers. Recently Feng and Halterman were awarded a grant from the Office of Naval Research to turn their theory into reality. They received the grant after publishing their research in the Feb. 15, 2008 edition of the Physical Review Letters. Because 90% of the launch mass of conventional rockets is their chemical fuel, getting into space today is very expensive and the engines are stressed to their limits. Lightcraft can deliver payloads into space for a fraction of the cost of traditional rockets because most of the engine stays on the ground, thereby unburdening the craft from having to lift the energy source for its propulsion system. A ground-based laser is the power source that propels the Lightcraft into orbit. The backside of the craft is a large, highly polished parabolic mirror that is designed to capture the laser beam projected at it from the ground. This mirror focuses the pulsed beam into the shroud, rapidly heating the air and creating a blast wave that pushes this vehicle upward. As the beam is rapidly pulsed, the vehicle is continuously propelled forward, on its way to orbit. The necessary technology to pull this off is all here today. High power laser technology, Lightcraft optics and materials, electronics, guidance and control systems are largely existing technology that is being tailored for a new application. A notable feature of this revolutionary space launch technology is that by far the most expensive part of the laser Lightcraft propulsion system (i.e., the laser and telescope) always remains on the ground and is never subjected to the risks of launch. That's great, but does it fly? Yes-Lightcraft have been tested in the New Mexico desert for the past 4 years, and on July 9, 1999, exceeded Goddard's initial flight of 41 feet by a factor of three. Laser Powered SpaceCraft to Launch MicroSats Washington DC - December 14, 1997 - The futuristic concept of small laser-propelled spacecraft has taken its first research flights towards reaching space. That progress has been measured by short flights of 2-20 seconds duration at a military research facility using a high power infrared (CO2) laser, a wavelength invisible to the naked eye. The achievement can be likened to Robert Goddard's first successful flights of his liquid propellant chemical rocket that attained a height of 41 feet after a 2 1/2 second burn in March of 1926. In sharp contrast with Goddard's rockets, there is absolutely no fuel on board this prototype laser-boosted craft, which has a diameter of 15 cm, mass of 40-50 grams, machined from a solid block of 6061-T6 aluminum. The Air Force Research Laboratory's Propulsion Directorate at Edwards AFB CA is conducting these technology development research and flight demonstrations. Additional research money has been provided this year by NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center's (MSFC) Advanced Space Transportation Program. The laser propelled flights take place at the White Sands Missile Range (WSMR) in New Mexico at the High Energy Laser Systems Test Facility (HELSTF). The Lightcraft propulsion research employs the Pulsed Laser Vulnerability Test System (PLVTS), a 10 kilowatt laser built by AVCO TEXTRON for the Army. PLVTS is the highest average power, pulsed carbon dioxide laser presently operating in the United States. The laser-propelled vehicle, called "Lightcraft" because it flies on a beam of laser light, is designed to harness the energy of a laser beam and convert it into propulsive thrust. The Lightcraft receives the kilojoule pulses from the PLVTS laser at a rate of 10 times per second upon the concentrating mirror that forms its rear section. The function of this parabolic mirror is to focus the pulsed laser energy into a ring-shaped "absorption/propulsion" chamber. Here the laser beam is concentrated to extremely high intensities, sufficient to momentarily burst the inlet air into a highly luminous plasma (10-30,000 K), with instantaneous pressures reaching tens of atmospheres providing thrust. This airbreathing pulsed detonation engine concept owes its origins to the German V1 "Buzz Bomb" of WW II that ran on aviation fuel. The laser Lightcraft concept was first proposed and developed by Prof. Leik Myrabo of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, under sponsorship of the Laser Propulsion Program of the former Strategic Defense Initiative Office (SDIO). He is now collaborating with the Air Force Research Laboratory's Propulsion Directorate at Edwards AFB CA to conduct field tests to demonstrate how the craft can be propelled using available high powered lasers. Dr Franklin Mead of the lab's advanced propulsion group studied the initial SDIO proposal, and offered Myrabo a multi-year sabbatical position at the lab and assistance in developing and validating the concept. Myrabo's original SDIO Lightcraft concept was designed as a single-stage-to-orbit spacecraft that would become a microsatellite upon reaching orbit. The spacecraft lifts-off in a laser propelled airbreathing engine mode, and as it nears Mach 5 speed and 30 km altitude, shifts into a laser propelled rocket mode. The airbreathing engine mode would develop quasi-steady thrust by pulsing at hundreds to thousands of times a second -- depending on the mach number and altitude flown along the boost trajectory into orbit. The rocket mode would use on-board propellant, in the form of liquid hydrogen or nitrogen, to convert and expand the laser energy for propulsion once the Lightcraft had climbed above the atmosphere. Unlike Goddard's rocket engine, no oxydizer is required. The SDIO study showed that all launch to orbital conditions for a laser propelled vehicle could be satisified by a single, high-power ground-based laser -- with, or without the aid of a low altitude laser relay mirror. Myrabo and Mead are the project team co-directors for this laser Lightcraft research and development effort. Five different Lightcraft designs have been flight tested using the pointing and tracking system on the PLVTS laser, run by Stephen Squires and Chris Beairsto of WSMR's Directorate of Applied Technology Test and Simulation. Laser boost capability has been demonstrated at the White Sands facility with Lightcraft reaching 14 feet vertically in 2-second gyroscopically stabilized free flights, as well as 400 foot horizontal guide-wire flights lasting 10 to 20 seconds. The researchers plan to increase the Lightcraft's free flight altitude in November by moving the launch stand outside Test Cell #3, where the flights will no longer be limited by lab ceiling height. The near-term goal is to reach an altitude of 1 Kilometer in the next 18 months with the PLVTS laser. To climb even higher, e.g., 10 to 100 km or near the edge of space, will require re-activation of the 150-Kw pulsed "Driver" CO2 laser, now stored in Test Cell #2 at HELSTF. Preparations are underway to enlist this powerful infrared laser that was developed at the AVCO Research Laboratory (Everett, MA) in the mid '70's -- under the guidance of Dr. Arthur Kantrowitz, a long time advocate of laser propulsion. The predominant reason for investigating this laser launch concept is its low cost, simplicity and responsiveness upon demand. Laser Lightcraft and their propulsion modes are a radical departure from the chemically fueled rockets used today. If successful, this new energy beam propulsion technology will supplement rather than replace current manned and unmanned launch systems. The approach holds great promise for reducing the launch costs of microsatellites by several orders of magnitude less than today's chemical-fueled rocket technology. It can lead to a state of being unable to perform one's duties in life. Its spiritual overtones make it related to but distinct from depression. [1] Acedia was originally noted as a problem among monks and other ascetics who maintained a solitary life. Description The Oxford Concise Dictionary of the Christian Church [2] defines acedia as "a state of restlessness and inability either to work or to pray". Some see it as the precursor to sloth - one of the seven deadly sins. In his sustained analysis of the vice in Q. 35 of the Second Part (Secunda Secundae) of his book Summa Theologica, theologian Thomas Aquinas identifies acedia with "the sorrow of the world" (compare Weltschmerz) that "worketh death" and contrasts it with that sorrow "according to God" described by St. Paul in 2 Cor. 7:10. For Aquinas, acedia is "sorrow about spiritual good in as much as it is a Divine good." It can lead to a state of being unable to perform one's duties in life. Some see it as the precursor to sloth—one of the seven deadly sins. In his sustained analysis of the vice in Q. 35 of the Second Part (Secunda Secundae) of his book Summa Theologica, theologian Thomas Aquinas identifies acedia with "the sorrow of the world" (compare Weltschmerz) that "worketh death" and contrasts it with that sorrow "according to God" described by St. Paul in 2 Cor. 7:10. For Aquinas, acedia is "sorrow about spiritual good in as much as it is a Divine good." It becomes a mortal sin when reason consents to man's "flight" (fugam) from the Divine good, "on account of the flesh utterly prevailing over the spirit." (ST, II-II, 35, 3). Acedia is essentially a flight from the world that leads to not caring even that one does not care. The ultimate expression of this is a despair that ends in suicide. Aquinas's teaching on acedia in Q. 35 contrasts with his prior teaching on charity's gifted "spiritual joy," to which acedia is directly opposed, and which he explores in Q. 28 of the Secunda Secundae. As Aquinas says, "One opposite is known through the other, as darkness through light. Hence also what evil is must be known from the nature of good." (ST, I, 48, 1). The demon of acedia holds an important place in early monastic demonology and psychology. Evagrius of Pontus, for example, characterizes it as "the most troublesome of all" of the eight genera of evil thoughts. As with those who followed him, Evagrius sees acedia as a temptation, and the great danger lies in giving in to it. In the medieval Latin tradition of the seven deadly sins, acedia has generally been folded into the sin of sloth. Moral theologians, intellectual historians and cultural critics have variously construed acedia as the ancient depiction of a variety of psychological states, behaviors or existential conditions: primarily laziness, ennui or boredom. The demon of acedia manifests itself in a range of psychological and somatic symptoms that is far broader and more complex than the familiar tradition in the West. Acedia is the subject of the 2008 memoir by Kathleen Norris.[3] [edit] Signs Acedia is indicated by a range of signs. These signs (or symptoms) are typically divided into two basic categories: somatic and psychological. Acedia frequently presents signs somatically. Such bodily symptoms range from mere sleepiness to general sickness or debility, along with a host of more specific symptoms: weakness in the knees, pain in the limbs, and fever. An anecdote attributed to Amma Theodora[4] also connects somatic pain and illness with the onset of acedia. A host of psychological symptoms can also signify the presence of acedia, which affects the mental state and behavior of the afflicted. Some commonly reported psychological signs revolve around a lack of attention to daily tasks and an overall dissatisfaction with life. In his study of baroque literature, The Origin of German Tragic Drama, Benjamin describes acedia as a moral failing, an "indolence of the heart" that ruins great men. Benjamin considers acedia to be a key feature of many baroque tragic heroes, from the minor dramatic figures of German tragedy to Shakespeare's Hamlet: "The indecisiveness of the prince, in particular, is nothing other than saturnine acedia."
