I actually designed a new system from scratch one day, well, it took two days. I imagined most of the rules simultaneously, and how they worked together, only one minor bump which I overcame.
Either way I managed to fit the whole character sheet on a single page, it takes 5-10 minutes to make a character, but I playtested it with Matthew, and it was AWESOME. Battles were more intuitive and more strategic, giving players the opportunity to actually describe their own character's actions rather than "You hit, you miss" Crap.
Still has a few bugs, but it hasn't even been played outside of a combat situation yet, so that's understandable.
Currently, my primary problem is that of experience. The levels are balanced, the system is at any level.
The issue is that I've been unable to determine a proper experience system + appropriate starting character points.
It works no matter how many or how few, so it's appearing that the rules will have to be arbitrarily decided on that subject.
It's fun and has more free choice than D&D, yet the rules are sufficiently limiting to make it simple to pick up and apply to a game.
Best part is it provides so much inspiration for a world setting just from the way the rules tend to bend things, fire magi being physically stronger than most other magic casters with less mana, or the higher average HP of the earth mage for example. It fits with semi-cliche settings, at the same time there are other, more unique distinctions that stir the imagination.
The hardest part, that I'm very satisfied with is a way to combine the factors of a superior character defeating a weaker one markedly, yet still allowing the slim possibility to defeat an opponent vastly more powerful. I found a way to also set it so that fumbles are more common, yet decreasing with skill with the weapon still fits in with a system where the weakest warrior could, in math theory, defeat the most powerful, just like real life, yet obviously it's incredible unlikely.
Battles are fought with advantages and disadvantages that carry from one round to the next, though I reduced the total amount of 'random chance' in combat and the battles tend to flow in the direction that the more successful you are, the more success you'll get, even then, I managed to create it so that one could be utterly decimating an enemy, and yet in a single round the tables can turn into complete victory for them.
In any case, I'm being overly verbose, I'll just show you when I see you.

Actually, I'm not too sure I want to Sami in the game anymore. She said something really offensive and hurtful to me last time I spoke with her, and is currently more concerned about having her right to a opinion, than the feelings of the friend whom the opinion is about.
Would love to try out that system though. It sounds fun! May we could get Devon or Matthew or some else to come play with us! Second thought... Maybe Matthew... Devon is a cool guy but it really frustrating DMing a game with him because he far too often goes against the flow of the story (like doing everything in his fucking power to try to kill off Hades, when hades was just trying to pass a message his way.)

Though, the truth of this world is that you have zero control, or right to control, anyone else's mouth. Only your own reaction and who you choose to associate with. People will always say things that offend, though, on an unrelated point, that doesn't mean that what was said was offensive in nature, only that someone took it offensively.
After all, there are those who would be offended should you even imply that homosexuals exist. Doesn't mean your right to state your opinion is removed, or that you said something offensive in nature, even if someone was otherwise upset by it.
I think Devon bucks the system too much, takes liberties with powers, warps the rules, and almost dares you to kill him off despite the fact he would flip should you do so. So considering the Magic in my system isn't developed yet and we've been making up weapons and traits on the spot... I wouldn't want him to compare it to their C.A.S.T.E. System, which he always tried to push my systems to become more like. But I haven't seen him in months anyways, last I heard he plays at the GameSpark Cafe. So he won't be here.
Matthew... Unfortunately Sami has blackmailed him, so that's largely unlikely. As much as I'd like him to show up.
David though will probably be there, and maybe Spencer, and there may be yet a way to include another person for a full party of FOUR! Omg loardy lordy lurdieee.
Which by the way, David wheeled and plotted his way through the Royal Family of the Emerald Throne, turned out exciting as he roleplayed superwell, playing into conspirators only to betray them to gather favors for himself. Took three years in game, but he's now a King himself. So he's set a hard precedent to follow for the first player character in the world to rise from the place of a Forth-Born Prince with no accomplishments who partied his way through his inheritance to go so far, do so much, defeating raiders, ogras and rescuing POW's, negotiating secret peace treaties and recapturing lost a lost city and his exquisitely precise rise to the most powerful throne in the known world.
So, in honor of it, I'm going to let anyone's first character be a member of a Royal Family with an equal opportunity to become top dog. Should they wish to play a prince/princess/regent/lord etc.
