Hello! I saw a photo of you and a friend dressed up as the Silence from Doctor Who, and I was wondering if you'd be so kind as to help me with my costume of the same monsters. I found a mask for sale on eBay, and the suit's fairly easy to get, but I can't seem to find the gloves for sale anywhere, or even tutorials on how to make them! I don't know whether yours were bought or self-made, but please help me? Either point me in the direction of someone selling them, coach me through making my own, or put me in contact with someone else who can, pretty please? Thank you!

Thank you! This is quite helpful.
Turns out the mask wasn't the right kind, though. Do you have a link for a tutorial on masks?

I'm putting a who cosplay group together for Ohayocon in January. Right now we have all the Doctors and most of the New series companions as well as a few classics. We also have some villains but having Silence would be cool too. I don't know if it'd be possible to come to OHio for you. But if so, we'd love to have you in what will probably be the biggest Who cosplay group EVER!

Sound awesome, however, I've never gone to a con outside of Texas and it doesn't look Ohayocon will be the first. Thanks for the invite though!

Yes I did make the mask and thank you for the interest. However, I'm not selling any copies at this time. If I do, I will post the information in my journal.

Been very well! Lots of time in the wilderness over the last few years. I'm in the Puget Sound area now throwing some ideas around with other local artists. Collaboration is in the works. Hope you're well, too! Are you still in the Dallas area?

Hehe, yes indeedy, I used to write for the Source I had the stupidly boring username of FemaleSpartan, if I remember rightly!

Ooooh. I did art for the Source. My user name was the same as here.
Thanks for the apprecitaion of my acrylic pieces. I haven't really done much acrylic lately. It been all about the oil.

Yep, I remember! Your art was always amazing, it made the Source look incredible!
No problem - oooh, really? I find oils so difficult to work with, they just take so long to dry! How do you find them?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
AzureProps In reply to Sparkypoo [2011-05-02 23:06:26 +0000 UTC]
sniff
I miss the Source. I find that I don't go on the 405th as much anymore. It's been flooded by Noobs.
At first, oils were evil. I'm so used to the drying time of acrylics. But, I'm trying to get involved with a charity that does portraits only in oil, so I'm forcing myself to learn. And its getting easier with each work.

Sparkypoo In reply to AzureProps [2011-05-04 19:32:36 +0000 UTC]
So do I It felt like much more of a community with the Source, for some reason.. 405th has changed so much now, I haven't used it for at least a year now, either! I know what you mean :/
That's brilliant! I'd love find a charity like that! Good for you I think your oil portraits look lovely, it looks like you've been doing it for years!

Sorry. I don't do cosplay commissions at the moment. Maybe in the future though. If I do decide to do any, I'll post it in my journal.

ok , thank you!
do you know anyone who is taking costume commissions by any chance?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
AzureProps In reply to emopunk68 [2011-04-18 18:20:35 +0000 UTC]
I'm sorry, I can't say I do. Most of the cosplayers I know only construct for themselves. There are several that can be found online, but they can be rather expensive. You can also look on cosplay.com. You might find someone on there who is open to commissions and isn't priced too badly.
Of course, I'll always recommend people to try and make their own stuff. And it might be bad at first, but it gets better with time and patience.
What are you looking to make, if you don't mind my asking?

hi um i was wondering where you are posting you Odessa chapter stuff cuz i tryed the 405th.com but i cant seem to find it... or anything... well thanks (you are still writing it right)
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
AzureProps In reply to FirstStrike1177 [2010-11-10 04:45:50 +0000 UTC]
Thanks for the interest in the Odessa fiction! However, I'm only the illustrator for the series. The writer is . Last I heard, she had several more chapters written out, but not submitted.
Sorry that you couldn't find it on the 405th. The site has changed and is more focused on prop-making now than anything else. Everything related to the Source (the e-zine), is gone.
You can always ask the writer nicely to post it somewhere. If she does that, I'd like to illustrator those too.

Good. Graduation is great. And so are temp jobs...Woooo! Now, tell me. What do you know about wacom tablets, and what should I consider before buying one?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
AzureProps In reply to Cold-Mountains [2010-09-28 16:27:29 +0000 UTC]
I've been using Wacom tablets for at least 4 years. I had a Wacom Graphire first, and I loved it. Had to retire it recently. Started doing some funny things. Parents got me a Wacom Intuos 4 as an early grad present. It's amazing. When buying a tablet, I would consider price. Bamboo is at the cheaper end, Intuos 4 is the middle, and the Cintiq is the high end. I got a small Intuos 4 for around $200. I find it does everything that I need, if not more. You should also consider size. I take mine everywhere my laptop goes. If you're just starting off, I'd go for a Bamboo, or an older version of Intuos. You can find some on Ebay.
