Hey Jennette. I had actually thought that icon looked like yours but nothing in your gallery looked that familiar.

Thanks! I'm glad you like them.
I stumbled across a link to your "Change for Peace" project on StencilRevolution and I had to mark it so that I could ask you for the template later. It sounds like a neat idea and I'd love to help you get some circulating in New Mexico.

Hey, I've got eight expressions drawn to my satisfaction for the expression sheet. I've got to scan them and then draw the turn around for you.

hey, really take your time and work on it. I had a major battle in college and decided to work on the concept all by myself. they wanted to change the entire flow of the concept in order to make it more entertaining and commercial.

Bohnhoff In reply to designed-devil [2009-01-19 05:25:41 +0000 UTC]

Video work for a band sounds pretty cool. And for an opening, sounds like a big gig.
School is probably about the same for me. I'd rather be doing what I want to do instead of what they want me to do. But I graduate in May so I think I can tough it out.
I found an electric pencil sharpener that someone threw away. I opened it up and it wasn't actually broken, just jammed with pencil shavings. I'm thinking about painting it.

thts sweet mann....

thts t problem, it jus sounds cool =/

ur lucky u graduate in may, i've to rough it out this yr an do tht going-to-be-disasterous film in college wit a team tht cant comprehend wat surreal means.

so tht about it.

Bohnhoff In reply to designed-devil [2009-01-19 20:02:29 +0000 UTC]

Surrealism is tough. I'm pretty sure I don't get it. Fortunately, I just have to make a character you like and don't have to worry about it

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

designed-devil In reply to Bohnhoff [2009-01-20 09:47:56 +0000 UTC]

arent we being modest about it

the actual problem is most of my classmates have enrolled in this course to get a good job and not to become a good artist/animator. so they're more bothered about the money aspect of it.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Bohnhoff In reply to designed-devil [2009-01-21 05:30:38 +0000 UTC]

Ah. That is a problem indeed. If you go into any kind of art it needs to because it's your passion rather than a perceived economic opportunity.

On the other hand, money is an important issue. I feel that I'm going to graduate knowing how to paint but not knowing what to do with my paintings when they're done. I have no idea how to approach galleries, organize shows, or make a living painting. I kind of wish my degree had a few business classes included.

designed-devil In reply to Bohnhoff [2009-01-21 09:10:55 +0000 UTC]

Well, if you're interested I could get you a job teaching foundation art here in India. there's a lack of decent teachers out here. but of course, i don't see the point of that happening. I mean the pay wouldn't be all that great if converted to dollars.

I'm guessing you're not much of a socialite so you wouldn't really have the kind of friends that can get you the publicity you deserve. If there's one thing I've learnt out here, you require some friends with contacts to pull yourself through.

Find art fests and participate in them, I think that should give you a good amount of exposure. And you had a few of your works displayed in one of the galleries recently right? go back there.

Bohnhoff In reply to designed-devil [2009-01-21 19:30:11 +0000 UTC]

Heh. I think my girlfriend would kill me if I tried to take a job in India. Would be quite an adventure though.

And yea, I guess the way to learn how to get into galleries is just to try to get into some galleries, no? I'll figure it out.

I think I probably will cause trading sounds like fun. But I have to make some cards to trade first. I'll probably work on one tonight.

I have a feeling that mine won't look like most ATCs, though. I know there's a wide variety out there but most of the ones I've seen online look much more crafty than I want to do.

ArtistTradingCards In reply to Bohnhoff [2008-10-02 22:03:37 +0000 UTC]

I am sure they will be great, I have seen A LOT of cards and there are all differnt kinds. If they were all cutesy crafty I wouldn't like them so much. I am planning to do some digital ones and I know they won't look like that either.!

I look foreward to seeing your work!
