Many thanks and my deep felt appreciation not just for the comment but also the fave on Blood Moon . Which I know a stock artist does not need to fave art just because theirs is used.

BTW your stock is like Lays potato chips, no one can have just one!

Oh, wow ...

You're making me realise. All of the stock I have posted *was* before I turned 18, even if shortly before. But I am 19 now; I haven't posted stock in over a year!

I should get on that. Anyway, you have great art, I'd be glad if you used it again!

It's much easier to find the object you're looking for as an element of another photo, rather than finding a photo of the object alone.

Very interesting and beautiful! You caught me off guard for a moment, because the part of the stock you used was a small part of the picture you took it from. That's quite creative, actually.

It was a nice experience, I'm very grateful for it!

I encountered people with different tastes; when it comes to stock, I expect it. Some will like it immensely, some won't even get it. And I'm always striving to be better. You're right that DA pushes you to that! It's the only way I can handle the envy that overwhelms me when I see an amazing artist. I study their techniques and practice them for myself.

(The watch--) You're welcome! You've got some interesting deviations, there--not quite like anything I've seen before, but awesome all the same! Jesus rocks. :-D

Chrishankhah-STOCK In reply to FiruL33T [2005-11-22 17:07:53 +0000 UTC]

There are good pointers there. Granted, my stock is for more than photomanipulating, and people on DA often forget it serves more puporse than that. I mean to inspire. I mean to give poses for artists looking for them (it's all I really use my own stock for.) I don't have a studio or a good wall to take pictures against. Most of my stock pictures aren't intended as stock (they're just pictures of me on vacation, or doing poses for my own drawings or whatever,) but they end up that way.

I suppose I'm sounding a bit too defensive. I think I was slightly offended by your comment under the deviation you linked me to. You should have noted it instead if you were going to post the tutorial here.

In any event, people *seem* to like the stock. They use it. Maybe it's a variation from the standard white-background "cut-out" stock. Maybe it's stock for people who want shadows because they want to do a sketch study of light and shadow. Maybe one day I'll hang up a sheet and really review the standard of stock so I can provide it here.

For the time being, I think I'll stick to my methods. Not for any other reason, so much, than that my life is busy with moving, attaining foreign citizenship, and getting married, that it would be a bit too much to take a whole new approach to a method that at least seems to be good enough for people.

Thank you for your concern, though.

What do you want, a pretty lie or an ugly truth... Your stock's photos are too smaller and some parts of all your stock photos have a BIG error. When the figure mix into the background. Photomanipulators HATE that. Because they have to do a very precisse selection of the parts to ungroup the photo components to do a fine work. This tutorial is great for you. So, I send it to you 'cause I think you need it. And you don't need a studio to make stock photos. You just need a white wall and a nice light, or buy a piece of blue or green tex cloth or a curtain to make a background easy to erase. May be a Lamp of 500 watts (there are very cheap like 3 dollars) for better illumination. If you see this [link] you will find a photo that I take to my self using the sunlight from window, a white wall as background and the door wich color is black. Nothing more.

Kind honesty where there are no blunt truths to be discovered. It's a philosophy that works well in my relationship, so why not elsewhere?

I don't know. Some of the older pictures are small, but I've got some new ones that aren't, and now that I am home and don't have to be concious about filling up my camera, I can take my pictures on the highest quality possible. The newer pictures are from vacation. It would have been odd for me to carry a white wall around with me and place it in front of all of the beautiful castles. *grin* I've had photomanipulators even incorperate the backgrounds into the deviations. It can work.

But like I said. Photomanipulators aren't my prime target. They make up most stock users, so most stock artists aim for them. I want to give sketch artists something. Shadow. Natural lighting. Inspiration. I live in a small house, and honestly, there *is* nowhere I can really hang a sheet and take a good picture. There's a porch outside with a white brick wall (painted.) I promise you that I'll have some shots taken there the next time I have some taken, and see if it works. Otherwise, it's just not convienent for me right now. I'll keep to my methods for now and if I feel the need, I'll try yours.

HAhHAhHAhAHhHAhhHAh You're funny "It would have been odd for me to carry a white wall around with me and place it in front of all of the beautiful castles." HAhA Very funny!

Well... Yeah, of course you can take your pictures with castles as background and not a bored (and odd to carry) white wall. But make sure you don't mix your figure with the background. I'm talking about colors. There are some photos in your gallery where you figure or your sword get mixed with the bacground For example: your hair looks black and just behind yout hair are shadows from plants. Shadows that have the same color of your hair. Well, here you have a differents componets mixed by the same color. There are too much photos that have this odd. Not only in your gallery. I saw two stock galleries. One from TMDStock and two: yours. I like talk with you also.
And, what's the meaning of "Kind honesty where there are no blunt truths to be discovered". I can't understand the sence of the sentense.

See you later
