Ah, sorry... I've haven't had much access to my computer lately.

As for the question however, I left the design blank to give some creative space for her excellent comic Scoot's Ward. I'm pretty pleased with the design angle she took, even if she omitted the ISS's trademark high black collar, which is one every ISS uniform. Zima's uniform design is something along the lines of a SWAT trooper's gear. If you want the duty uniform (no armor, just a uniform) I can get a couple of sketches posted if you're interested.

And if you don't mind my asking, to what end is all this information going to? Are you writing a story or something along those lines? Just curious.

Yes i am thinking of doing a couple of pictures which shows group of Section five under the command of major Jakob at work in its effort to crush the vortian underground.

It seems likely to me. I imagine something along the lines of the way various Resistance groups got downed pilots out of the country during World War II.

It also sounds very much like something the Secret Police would be interested in. Maybe as a way of capturing high value targets or infiltrating the Resisty itself. The way I've structured Section 5, such a task would be done through the Vortian Occupation Division.

Would Section 5 agents have power over the irken military or have it own troops like the SS.
To carry out actions like house to house searchs.

I been thinking of creating a section 5 agent called major Jakob who been given the task of infiltrating and breaking resisty cells on voet.

Section 5 is more of an enforcement and investigation part of the ISS. Covert offensive actions and similar operations are handled by Section 3. House-to-house search and seizure sounds like their cup of tea.

If you do go ahead with this character, I look forward to seeing/reading his story.

Oh yes. Section 5 is the largest, which generally makes everyone feel a bit threatened. They also feel like they deserve all the credit for the assignments they take part in. They consider themselves to be superior to the other sections, mainly because these other sections feel that Section 5 is growing too powerful. Section 4 (the Commissars - the Armada secret police) for example doesn't like that Section 5 has the authority to arrest Armada personnel if they are suspected of an Imperial Crime, which the 4's feel is intruding on their turf.

Section 5 particularly hates Section 2 - the Inquisitors (Special Field Operatives) because they get a lot of the high profile cases. No one is real cozy with Section 2 because they're also responsible for reporting treason and defectives within the ISS. Section 2 gets a bad rap for being so secretive, even to the other sections.

The support Sections (1 and 6) feel like they don't get enough credit for their work, so they resent the other sections for that.

There's a lot of rivalry and negative feelings in the service, but for the most part there's not much action on these. Command and Control, the Grand Inquisitor, and the Command Council keep things under control for the most part.

Not really. Section 6 does use some captured/defecting aliens as Net operators, but none of the other sections trust aliens enough to employ them officially.
