So sorry, I've been AFK for weeks ;o;
but BASICALLY what I was gonna say anyway (noting is pointless ig cuz honestly this acc is kinda dead so if people wanna spy on me they can do it in full why not), is that you won't get banned off dA cuz there's no legal rights surrounding claim of an idea on dA. the worst ban you'd get is from the group/species you're offbranding, and even then it's like...if they do that, were you gonna join them anyway? idk, whatever.
so if you're okay with callout posts made about you/it, that's likely the worst you'd get.Β
and if anyone tries to file a dmca (as has happened a couple of times in the past), you just dispute it and it's acc illegal on their end so if they rly wanna take you to legal hell that badly, it's not them who'll suffer from not reading the fine print.

Ugh Im sick of all the off brand hate. Why is it sooo bad to draw a dog made of sand and water or a canine with a pastry butt? Ive forgotten all about it until I ran across a poll today openly bashing off branders. I get some people dont like them and thats ok, were all entitled to our opinions. Why do they need to go around bashing others for having a different opinion? I dont see the Revolt groups doing that to CS fans, its not right. I love how one person had the nerve to tell us not to upload off brand OCs anywhere. Also, saying offbranding = stealing in 2017 is infuriating. Not everyone wants to pay 200 dollars for a design and/or be told what to do with a character they bought, which is why off brands exist. Everyone commenting on that poll might as well email their rant to real world off brand companies and see if they care lol. Off brands of everything will always exist.

i only go against Closed Species because someone who sold me a cinnadog claimed i stole it, and one of the admins didnt like me so they had me banned even though i had proof the cinna was rightfully mine.
I got like $500 worth of cinnadogs taken from me with NOTHING to show for it. No compensation no nothing :/

Ugh yeah a lot of the extremely popular CS groups are toxic like that. It's why I never even bothered buying an official CS character. They cost a lot and than you have to walk on eggshells with the group or risk being banned for no reason like you were or getting your character revoked. This is why off brands exist IMO.Β
