I create art (images and videos) by only writing code.
That group seem like perfect place for me.
It's such shame it's dead

how unfortunate that entire programs are somehow not considered art per those journal rules.

every work in my gallery is the result of exactly one (of my own) program's execution; sometimes i also upload link to the program, for example [link]

Art, as DeviantART sees it, is something that needs to be able to hit you, relatively quickly.

Reading a whole programming, and learning its' very workings takes too much for most to do, before the real art 'clicks'. There is art in some whole programs, like Ruby for example. Ruby is a language that eventually 'clicks' once you get into it.

Hello,
As a club/group, we rely on the submissions of others to feature in special journals, or to favourite.

Read the section entitled "How codeisart Operates" in this Journal [link] for more information.

I'm not a programmer, I'm more into drawing, writing, editing, and (X)HTML (TAGS!!!! *dies of enthusiasm*), but I'd just like to say that I support you guys 100%.

I'd say that I support you guys, I don't know, 500%, but since I'm assuming you're all nerds and geeks and such (I have to be honest ^^), I worry that you might get all nitpicky with the exact math of my enthusiasm. So, let's go with 100%.

Hm im intrested. I do CSS/HTML, I can do a bit with PHP. If this is good enough? I do not develop software, but Im deeply intrested in it though

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CodeIsArt In reply to Sk0ld [2007-08-02 18:48:55 +0000 UTC]

Of course it's good enough. CodeIsArt is about looking for the emotion, beauty and elegance people put into their code through hard work and problem solving. That includes all languages, compiled or interpreted

CodeIsArt In reply to Sk0ld [2007-08-02 18:56:54 +0000 UTC]

All you need to do is add us to your devwatch. Have a look at our journal and anything you can do to contribute to the club gaining traction, is a win for all programmers on deviantART. Hang out in the chat room, join the discussion in the forum thread (linked in the journal), or note us with suggestions of programming art to feature / favourite / critique
