With her keen hearing, she could was strikingly aware of her surroundings, not only able to discern individual sounds from each other, but almost pinpoint their exact locations. Nothing was sneaking by this skilled pred.

She indeed saw something, or in this case someone - a human no less, trudging through the tall grass as he read through a map.

She got up off the rock to take a closer look. Likely the human hadn’t seen her yet and she go sneak into the grass to ambush him...so that’s what she did. The wild dog stealthily slipped into the grass and started towards him.
