Thanks for the fave and good luck with the studying! (one of my suite-mates is a psych major, and we make sure to be real nice to her around finals.)

You're drawing of Captain Hook is so good. I wish I could draw him like that. LOL, last time I tried he looked like a piratey Homer Simpson. ^_^;

Last year I was studying to become a special education teacher and I was student teaching at a special needs school. I was talking to one of the students in the front office when the principal pulled me aside and told me a new rule had come into many school districts, including ours, that states teachers cannot talk to students about their personal lives. When I found this out I decided to change degrees to Psychology. I think I'll be more help to the kids as a child psychologist than a teacher, because they'll have someone they can talk too and not have to worry about being judged.
I love your art! It is AMAZING!

That's a really, really noble reason to go into psychology. I don't know... I would imagine that a teacher, rather than a gang member, stranger, abusive parent, etc., would be better to talk to about a problem. Go figure.
And thank you for the compliments I like the colors you use in your art. I've read and seen before that art is a good way to understand someone's thoughts or feelings, especially when they're younger (like a kid in school). As a psychologist, would you use art to try to understand your patients? You definitely have a knack for it yourself.

It's a stupid rule and I think school systems are endangering the kids rather than helping them. And it's a teacher who could jump in to stop a stranger from taking a child, or a gang member from attempting to give a kid drugs. Luckily, teachers are still trained to look for abuse and can report it....But from what I learned from my "Teachers and the Law" class, a teacher can't talk to the student about the abusive parent. :-P
O_O Are you a mind reader?! My mom, sister, and I were just talking about using art with kids when I'm in therapy sessions with them one day. I'm definitely could to use art when I become a psychologist; it really helps to relax a person and they're more focused on their artwork than they are their feelings most of the time. I think drawing, coloring, and painting could really help the kids to open up easier.
Thank you. :-D My friend Nalana is an artist (she's on DeviantArt too) and she's really been helping me out. I love the Civil War paintings you did, the soldiers really look ready to jump off the screen. Have you ever been to Confederate prison Andersonville in Georgia? It's a pretty place, but it's very sad because of lives taken there. There's a movie about Andersonville out, and it shows what happened in the prison and what conditions were like. There's many parts that made me wonder, "What the heck was Wirz thinking?" (According to the movie he wouldn't clean up the prison until he was rewarded with a promotion; but according to different books I've read he didn't have the resources to keep the prisoners fed....I tend to go with the movie version which is more truthful - although the Confederates didn't have a lot of food for themselves, they could have shared with the Union prisoners.)
If you ever go there (or if you've already been there) when you pass over a bridge near the prison there's a sign telling people not to fish from the creek or drink the water. It's still polluted after 146 years.
Hey, would you mind if I sent you a friend invite on Myspace and Facebook?

Thank you so much for posting the beautiful photograph of Saint Michael. He's my patron saint, and I've been looking for a really good picture of a stain glass window picturing him, but haven't found one until I saw yours. :-D
