I've actually done a handful of cosplays (at least more than 10) and have a many more planned! haha but I haven't been posting them recently, but I should again xD

Metal work is a nice tie in to pieces. I just got a commission for a cosplayer for their upcoming piece. I may not have the time to get out there and get my characters on but I love being able to contribute. You have much skill in creating the aura of your characters if you post again I'd love to see them! Do you do it for little conventions or for your own free will settings and photography?

Metal work makes props and costumes so legit! I really wanted to step up my prop/armor work with using more metals, resins, etc. because aesthetically it looks a lot better than like craft foam. Haha still so much for me to learn. I understand how much work it must take to put out a metal worked piece. It takes a lot of time to put a costume together and I run out of time to get to work on my props. Especially all detail work that goes into making a prop look good. Your detail work is phenomenal I usually plan my cosplays around my convention schedule but sometimes I just do it for fun because I have a lot of cosplayer friends and photographers to go cosplay with. Haven't had too much time recently from the stress and work of college. The next convention I'm planning is Fanime, I'll be sure to get some good pictures to post up

Right it's all tedious but that's like me trying to sew.... I swear I have two left thumbs when it comes to that! And that's awesome. What do you go to college for? I can imagine that being a rough workload. My sister does full time work and college and it seems to be overwhelming. I just work heh

Yea I've never metal worked before, a bit hesitant to go make that leap. I've been reading couple blogs and stuff, it's just getting myself to start haha. I attend UCLA but I'm a business economics major, so nothing cool. I gotta go find myself a job because cosplaying and going to conventions is not cheap >.<;;

Do you metalwork for your job? Or is this just a side hobby too?

Oh my what a school to be studying business in. Thats fantastic and I applaud your choice in degree. I'm jealous. That'd be lovely to know the business world.

I work fulltime doing customer service for domestic relations at our county courthouse, nothing too special, and just got my entity identification for Gemslots LLC so I'm hoping that will eventually be my primary source of income. I can't make metalworking my fulltime job yet, but at this rate, if I keep getting a few of these big gallery projects, it may help me get enough to get some publicity for my site.

metalworking can be tricky but being able to work with wire and make whatever you want is worth the efforts in learning. My suggestion is to start small till your comfortable so you dont waste alot of your precious time being in school and have it not go as planned. I tinker alot with a finished product before being happy with it.

Thank you! Still not exactly sure what I'll be doing with that degree once I graduate (currently a third year). I would like to still have time to cosplay since I've made so much improvement in just a few years and would love to continue something I love. But of course, we'll have to see. Definitely going to save the metal work for one of my dream cosplays which will take me a lot longer to make as I don't want to rush them like some of my other cosplays.

Ah working full time must take up a good chunk of your time. I hope to see Gemslots LLC become successful in the future! I'll definitely keep an eye out for you and put in a good word I dont see too many people who do those gaunlet as nice as yours.

Well once you get settled into business economics you can build up a business or management for any different sort of things, its a beautifully versatile trade

I don't think I can make it to Fanime because of a large ballet folklorico event I have the same weekend. It made Fanime a bit difficult this year and now that I'm a costume co-chair, it'll only be worse. I'll try and stop by for a day though!
