I was 21 before i finished Lotr, after failing to finish at 16..I think roger garland had a big impression on how i thought things may look, as he used to do the covers back in the 80s in the uk!! Like your byzantine style, its well original!! would make a great design for an animation type thingy!!

Ta' very much! I 1sr readed the Hobbit when I was 10, LOTR at 14 and Silmarillion at 15.
This year I'm 42, so mi ideas of how the characters should look can't be 'polluted' by the films... These 3 books are my all time faves

My pleasure. I really like your byzantine - like depiction of kings & queens of Númenor/Gondor; I'm planning to do something alike with the Silmarrillion in a medieval manuscript style - though still researching & practising my calligraphy! -.

Gracias! Yo creo que es el estilo que más se adapta a 'El Hobbit', que es un libro bastante más orientado al público infantil que el SDLA...Por eso no sé si me va a gustar la película de P. Jackson... Pero habrrá que verla de todas maneras!

Si, es más infantil, pero de todos modos Tolkien más adelante se arrepintió un poco de darle ese tono y se quedó con ganas de reescribirlo para darle un tono más similar a ESDLA. De todos modos seguramente "El Hobbit" de Jackson va a tener un tono un poquito más ligero que ESDLA, pero no demasiado como para hacerla infantil, lo cual es lo que yo quería
