hello! I saw your post on the forums but I couldn't remember where the thread was ;;
^different ways of colouring pastel colours
1) you could just use a colour that's a biiit darker if you want a subtle look. usually the shade colour is towards the purples while highlights are towards the yellows.
2) using a darker colour to shade (still towards the purples)
3) use more varied colours to shade. e.g. using periwinkle to shade pink, or using purple to shade the pastel blue ^^ just experiment. Also if the environment is a bit cold, maybe use more blues and purples, if the environment is warm, use more reds and oranges.

Ugh, sweetie, thanks for running all the way here and helping a lost soul.
I know this sounds greedy, but what about shading green/teal? Also, do you know how to tone down pastels in such a way they aren't glaring but aren't dull either?

(just fyi my laptop colour calibration is off so everything seems more saturated sorry ;; )
threw this together in a few mins
for teal I usually shade with something more purple than the base colour too!
same for green, I like to shade with a bluer/more purple green and highlight with a more yellow green
to make pastels more soft, you could always shade first then lower the opacity of the shade layer so it isn't too dark
or CTRL-U and lower saturation of the shading layer as well so it isn't too saturated ^^

Thanks! It's just that in my laptop, it all looks good but when I see it in mobile, my teals and greens blind me with brightness hehe.

my laptop has the same problem!!
so I always upload to stash, open it on my ipad and adjust the colours using a gauge of how much less saturated and bright it needs to be xD
no problem happy to help ^^ don't be afraid to experiment with colours ^^ (there is an artist called KyouKaraa who uses colours really well maybe check her out if you have the chance~)
