Ich glaube nicht, dass ich eine Sprache wie Deutsch lernen könnte. In Französisch habe ich schön versagt, dabei ist das harmloser

Fortunately I can read German better than write it

I did like German more than French in highschool though.. I just used to speak dutch in a german accent and got away with it most of the time. After my oral exam French my teacher said she hadn't understood a word of what I was saying, but it was so brave of me to try so let me pass (did I mention at that point I had had 6 years of french lessons? I probably shouldn't mention that too often though)

I had french quite some time, too. And I've always been good at pretending I knew what I was doing.
You know, once you had a new teacher, all you had to to was to convince him in the first few lessons that you knew anything he could ask.
Then the rest of the year was about sleeping... Psssst!

History.. remembering dates/digits... Once as I was again unable to tell how old and in what grade was, I was solicitously asked whether this came from a brain tumor. Well, got to be thankful that I'm in fact just weird...
