Hi! Id be happy too! i mean my art isnt all too great, but ill try my best. Ive checked your paintings from the three part series u have made. (very awesome if i may add.) I would like to know if the smudging is your kind of style? because if it is then i wont point out much about it. But if it isnt then i would suggest you define your character much clearer since he is the main focus of your painting. You have a strong sillohuette which is a great start and your coloring is great as is. The composition is perfect. I would keep your light blue hazy background because it makes your character stick out strongly. Always use reference, pull out some internet pictures on human skeletons. Even the best artists need reference so dont be afraid   I use a specific brush that really depends on pen pressure which is great for character painting. i wouldnt use smudge though it works great with the cape. It really depends on how you feel and want your painting to look. I would start out with his sillouhette in a dark gray but not absolute black, then come in and define your light source by adding shadows. where will your shadows go? you will decide. The darker and heavier the shadows will attract the eye. after come in with highlights. Once its all blocked out you can totally start with the detail. For your background since it is very bright u should add strokes on the outline of his form. like a white contour line because his hair should be shining, and his cape. there wont be a light source in front of him unless you add one. So the highlights on his skull should relatively stay the same shade with a few light shadows. The coloring around his neck, im kinda of confused, it seems like black fur which is a great concept, or maybe you where going for a black scarf (im a fan of ocs with scarves heehee.) If it is fur i dont know what to say. (Again im a beginner!) Love the rib cage but i think it should be larger and a bit more longer. Unless of course you customized it especially for your character. Also he seems to be missing the sternum unless im mistaken. Hair is challenging for me so i wont say nothing on that XD cuz i dont even know. And lastly the torch (i bet you grew tired of me, sorry!) stronger embers, well originally u know fire is red and orange and yellow. So i would add more yellow in the source of the torch and fade it to orange and then lastly to a brighter red and have a few flying glowing embers. And hey its another light source! be sure to highlight the color glows on your skull and ribcage. basically anywhere that can be lit up. Um well thats pretty much all i can think of. That and well im sure u hear plenty but i love this character and the concept very epic. anymore questions ill try to answer as best i can. Thanks for the llama again!
