I did decide to drop the Spyro series. It was terrible, why did you people like it so much? Why do you people still ask me about it?! XO

Seriously though, I decided to change things drastically at the same time my life changed. I sat down to read my old writing only to cringe at its awfullness. The new stuff uses old characters with minor tweeks in a new setting. Read that.

FF contains all my old works, for people who want to remember it's terribleness...

Good to know some people still show up to my page tho...

It wasn't the best story sure, but I think you sold the characters really well, and I was very invested in them and seeing how many would survive, and what relationships might work out. (Especially Spyro and Cynder, because I'm a sucka for that!)

So its kinda a shame you decided to drop it completely. Any chance of returning to Spyro at all, or you completely done with it in terms of writing?

You have no idea how frustrating that is.  I put hardly any effort into that stupid piece of crap, and now that I've got a new series thats epic in scope and I've carefully crafted over hundreds of hours, but no-one is interested in it, cause it doesn't have spyro or cynder in it.  Quite a few of my old characters are in there, just reworked a bit to be more realistic in terms of characterization.

I'm done with fanfics.  I don't like borrowing someone else's characters, especially as main characters.  That is the writing equivalent of tracing over someone's artwork, and I hate it.  My new characters have real names, real feelings.  They react to events in my books in real ways and aren't mary janes who are all powerful, all singing all dancing, always do the right thing nobodies.  I'm done with that.

Sorry, I just...   it's frustrating cause I spend hours or days writing this stuff, and no one reads it.  Sometimes I wonder why I even bother...

... I didn't come here to cause an argument, so I'm not going to argue about your rather... odd comparison to tracing artwork and writing fanfiction.

But, well. That's always the difficulty of going from fandom to original content. Its always going to be hard to craft your own, unique fanbase, rather than tapping into a fandom that already exists. It's just a matter of working at it, and keeping at it, as long as its what makes it happy.
