Definitely striving for a career with it, but not yet... I have an exam in early July '16! (I won't say the grade as you might think it's quite low ) but the more foundation the better! I'm looking forward to it. If you play any musical instruments yourself you'd know that you certainly have to invest quite a bit of time and effort into it... but it's worth it. Up to anything interesting at the moment?

Wow that's amazing   very inspiring! I think I made grade five, seemed so long ago! I started learning when I was four   Good luck for the exam. It does take a lot of time and effort, I just play casually now, picking up a score or two when I feel like it, to relax. Not really up to anything overly interesting! I don't really come here anymore . I'm doing a lot of Wedding Photography, planning a month in the USA soon too. What about you?

Thanks for the good wishes for the exam! Grade 5 is impressive! (my upcoming exam is below Grade 5!) Wow, four years old is an excellent time to start learning a musical instrument, I got a keyboard when I was about 18 I think, and then got my first proper digital piano when I was 22...definitely wish I started sooner.

I'm not on here that much either, it's depressing some have unwatched me presumably from my inactivity... But I don't write, read much poetry at the moment as I say, so considering my account is mainly a poetry account, not surprising I've drifted a bit.

USA trip sounds interesting, whereabouts in the USA? I've been in contact with some deviantartists from USA while I've been here! FuzzyHoser is from Alabama, palaeochannel6 is from California, and Badgercheese1994 is from Texas... As for my life, piano is my main preoccupation at the moment, though definitely starting to go for more walking in the area (my life is quite boring, and I'm sort of a solitary personality most of the time unfortunately ). Wish I could go somewhere abroad, I can't remember the last time I properly went abroad...must've been just to France, in my teenage years! There's definitely a big world to discover, with a lot of different and varied cultures!

I winged it I think. I like to tumble over the piano rather than do the right fingers on the right notes. Sometimes, it makes for an interesting result . That's impressive too though, picking things up later on is always tough, but so worth the hard work just being able to sit down and play whatever you like, whenever you want to.

I'm going to Disney first, Orlando. Then heading down to Naples for a couple of weeks to relax afterwards. I haven't been for sooo long - only had UK holidays for the past five - six years really. Which have been awesome, I always think it's lovely to explore 'home' a bit more. But I cannot wait to venture abroad again.   Solitary personality is fine! Walking and Piano, throw in some good books and photography and that's me! it's not boring at all. It's a way of being

Hopefully I'll wing this particular exam, haha! I've certainly spent a lot of time and effort on it! Do you remember any music titles/particular composers from your Grade 5 exam? I'm on Clementi, Handel and some more modern composers like Eben, Nystedt currently.

Lol, 'what it means to be human'. I don't read that much at the moment to be honest, though really should, it's definitely good for the soul. I do a bit of photography actually though! such as: sta.sh/01pjdj7w9eky Margate, Kent!

I don't, I wouldn't have a clue! I really hated the classical music because my teacher wouldn't let me do anything else... I wanted to be able to play Elton John music, movie themes, musicals e.t.c but she lived and breathed classical. It was only when I moved onto a new teacher that I was able to pursue a bit more (and at the same time, stopped sitting exams haha!) I love Tocata and Fugue in D Minor though (spelling might be a bit wrong) and I've started delving into it here and there when I feel like it. I also looooove Einaudi's music, have you heard him?

I really like Einaudi! 'modern classical' I guess is what someone would label Einaudi's music. I remember hearing a track from his Dr Zhivago soundtrack on the radio ages ago, and remember watching the following videos not long after, which I'm surprised are still on Youtube after 8 years!

(both from the Dr Zhivago soundtrack! very good aren't they! definitely has reinvigorated my interest to try and listen to more Einaudi now)

I really like classical music! So the exam pieces are pretty much what I enjoy playing anyway, though one piece you have to play is nearly always contemporary piano now, so that might have a bearing if you ever want to pick up the exams again. always a possibility!

You should visit Kent at some point! Canterbury has an amazing cathedral, and there is a lot of history elsewhere too, a lot of Dickens stuff around Broadstairs, Thanet, (he lived there at one point), a lot of gardens, castles (like Dover castle).
