That's a good question. For me, Lucario's simply in the afterlife, but that afterlife is heavily influenced by the ancient Greek version. However, readers are fully welcome to interpret it as Lucario being literally at the Fields of Asphodel and later the Elysian Fields. (But I would suggest against that just because I didn't follow every detail of how the places were described by the Greeks.)

It struck me as the Fields of Asphodel because from what I know it's not really a heaven or hell. Pretty much just a field where you spend eternity.O_o

From what I've gathered, that's what it sounds like to me too. Pretty cool, though. I wouldn't mind frolicking around in meadows of flowers all day, lol.
