It took me a few viewings to see it. I also noticed the possible Freddy/Gwen thing simply because of her reaction to the idea of Alan killing him.

I got it my first viewing - I called up my fiance after he saw it (we were in different states when it first came out) and after my initial gushing went, "And did you see the total UST with Alan and Gwen at the funeral?" A lot of people on imdb saw it, but it's hard to find people into the fandom that see it or are into it.
In the two leaked versions of the script I actually got this image of a lot of the mothers lusting over the mysterious gardener who was so good with kids based on a few bits of dialogue, but I actually felt it less in the movie. Gwen just seemed freaking out over how the situation was escalating. Based on how Gwen is, I think she'd have reacted that way no matter how she felt about the guy, she just strikes me as that kind of person. But I think there are other things that might could hint at it, I just can't see remake!Freddy having a relationship with a grown woman, lol.
