I have just decided that tigers are a paint ot paint in watercolour. of course it could be his smaller size. Maybe if I add his stripes it will start coming together.

My eye exercise hmm 2 decent one yuck. oh well that's why I am doing it. learning.

So far I had managed to do the one painting of some sort a day. 22 more to go until class starts.

So I was being lazy.

I decided to hit some of my friends favorites and there are interesting patterns and there are some who I'm like wow I didn't realize you'd like that style also since most of your stuff is this and well you get the idea. (BTW friends thanks for expanding my horizons)

I better get going on the eyes practice/painting whatever you want to call it.

I have decided a good disipline for me is to finish one painting or sketch per day before classes start again.

This could get interesting. Good thing I have a ton of eye inspiration pictures.

Oh I am debating about posting some of my very first works aka before I was in watercolour class. It's interesting how much I grew without him taking a formal teaching pattern but just by exploring with his and other classmates encouragements.

Very nice paintings indeed. Lovely use of colours. As for what you wrote about people failing to understand the inspiration for your work, you've hit the nail on the head. The simple truth is that no one will ever be able to understand or comprehend what the truth behind the peice is.

And let's be honest, that isn't what art is about. Art is about expressing "yourself" it isn't about catering to other people. As long as you're happy in how you've expressed yourself then that's all that matters. Other people enjoying your work is just a bonus

so I have added some of my unfinished works or stages. ok only a couple. I mainly added it since thedarkcloak asked me about it at Orphans Thanksgiving if I had any preshots of my paintings.

So I finally uploaded my first paintings. even manged to get one comment. As I was uploading more pictures. wow.

I came to a realization Tues night when I was working on my paintings for class. I had finished my first song painting and got a response from a friend. Now he didnt' see what I was trying to do persay but yet it spoke to him in an even deeper way. Once before when people didn't recognize what I was trying to do I was in tears and quit. I was a horrible artist I was fooling myself with my first sucess.

So when this person came up with his thought I hit an epiphany. THey don't have to see what I see they just need to feel somethign Ideally AND no oneis going to see the picture inspiration next to the paintings and say umm your colors don't match. This finally gave me the power and will to continue with my ocelot which I have been very frustrated with. and now he is taking very nice shape. And the leopard has all his spots. I am sick of spots.

Another thing-I was working on the ocelot putting in his markings and I had the photo and painting upside down since I like to paint towards myself and I wanted to start near his eyes . Upside down it looked nothing spectacular. I turned it around and could only stare in awe. It turned out beautifully. by turning it upside down I had forgot what it shoudl look like and concentrated on the markings.
