I unfortunately don't have the time to be a personal teacher for free, sorry. You're welcome to go through my gallery, check out free online services or ask around at the #ILoveJapanese group.

Konnichiwa! (I hope I didn't spell that wrong )
I have a quick question. I'm trying to make a short comic in japanese, but I do not know how to write the kanji for "Where were you?" could you help me out please?
Gomennasai if I missed it when I was reading through the grammar or the vocab

LearningJapanese In reply to SeraphRDM [2012-11-13 22:38:26 +0000 UTC]
Konnichiwa
There are a few ways of saying, "Where are you?" in Japanese depending on the formalities of the situation. Someone who is speaking to someone of a higher status will obviously be speaking more polite/formal than speaking to someone of a lower status.
As far as kanji go, I can't think of any that would be needed off the top of my head, but here are some sentences you can use:
ใใชใใฏใฉใใงใใใ (Formal, basic, simple.)
ใฉใใซใใใฎใ (Fairly informal.)
ใฉใใงใใใ (Dropping the subject [so it must be implied or understood in context]; semi-formal.)
ใฉใใ (Informal, simple, subject must be implied or understood in context.)
Those are just a few, I'm sure there are other ways that it could be said.
Hope that helps c: Good luck with your comic^^

Wow - I'm incredibly impressed at the professionalism and, more importantly, the easy access that you provide with Japanese! I know a basic level of Japanese, and everything you've said helps clarify and reinforce what I know in a concise, clear way. Additionally, the inclusion of hirigana/katakana/kanji is a major help.
I look forward to learning Japanese with your help, and once again - Fantastic job!

Hi! I have a question, what would the difference in pronunciation be between:
"okashi" "ใใใ"ใ๏ผ๏ฝ๏ฝ๏ฝ
๏ฝ
๏ฝ๏ฝ๏ผ
"okashii" "ใใใใ" ๏ผ๏ฝ๏ฝ๏ฝ๏ฝ๏ฝ๏ผใ
I'm sorry . Thank you very much! By the way, this group is very helpful. I'm going to be very active by the way! ^^ Thank you.

Hello there Sorry for the delayed reply.
The additional "i" elongates the word. Think of it in English as saying "need" instead of "ned". I hope that helps

Hello! I was wondering, do you have/know of a list of commonly used kanji? Also, how many are necessary for basic conversations and reading? 100? 5,000? Thanks!
