Correct. The more horse-like head is their true head, the one they think and eat with. The humanoid torso is for self expression, grabbing and luring prey.

Definitely. The original 6 are the most experienced, Lex has grown very comfortable with and attached to these transformations. They’re also the only ones Lex has fully studied, from feeding habits and instincts, to adaptive traits and weaknesses. Each has their own unique personality and some are even independently sentient. His favorite is Sealord, he’s spent more time in this form than any other (about 3 years straight), exploring the natural world and growing closer to the other non-human residents of Earth. Sealord also has the highest body count of any transformation, rivaled only by Sin Eater.

They do, I’ve just yet to come up with names, focused mostly on researching species names. I’ve been considering them heavily, especially since some of my aliens likely come from the same world, or are subspecies.
