Hello! I'm sorry I missed your birthday. I hope it was a wonderful day for you. How are you doing?

Uh-oh. What happened, Nikki? Was it something someone said, or should I be looking for a new deoderant? If it's a problem and you want to vent, feel free to note me.

I also found you via Intergrativeone. I too suffer from an addiction. People like you give me hope and some faith that I can beat it. Thank you.

You CAN beat it. Hell, I never thought I would, and it took some pretty bad things happening for me to find the conviction to fight that demon, but I pulled through. One of my biggest regrets is that I waited that long. No matter what your addiction is and what situation you're in, there's always a way out of it. It's a damn hard road, but it's 100% worth it.

Nikki, I am here because I read about your story in Gayle's journal. I have read the prologue to your story from the link in her journal and will read your literature; already written and as you write it. It is my firm belief that our life experiences shape us, not define us. Each experience had will open a door somewhere either with or for someone. Your story will no doubt inspire you, challenge you at times and someone, somewhere will benefit from your experiences that you are brave enough to share. I will be watching, reading and learning...

Thank you so much. I really hope it can help someone, even if it's just one person. Like I've told people before, I need something good to come out of all this.

Hi again. I've been meaning to ask: How did you find deviantART? It's not exactly a household name, despite all its members. I only learned about it from my daugher who attended art school in Savannah. All the artists there knew about dA, but the general public typically does not. Just curious.

introduced me. She and Sarah used to visit some of the same websites when they were younger. A few months ago, I managed to guess Sarah's password to her account on one of those websites, and spoke with some of the people who knew her there. That's how kaze and I met, and she told me about jon.com so I decided to make an account here so I could read it. I figured I might as well make a writing contribution as well.

Did you tell me about Kaze before? Or am I confusing that with another deviant. What an incredibly small world. Kaze-bara has been following me since back before I started writing jon.com.

Yes, I did tell you. It is a pretty small world. Want to hear something funny? Kaze had a stepsister who used to be an addict, and her name was Nikki. Same spelling and everything. That one weirded me out a little.

I am a firm believer in a kind of passive destiny. I think God or fate or something keeps putting certain people in our path who will have an impact on our lives. It is up to us to notice them.
As an example, a year or two after Jim and I were married we sat down to watch some old super 8 movies his father had given us of their family. At one point, there was footage of Jim as a teenager going into the dentist's office. It was the same dentist my family used. At another point, his family was waving to the camera from the porch of a cabin in upper Michigan. My family had stayed in a cabin on that same lake the year before. And in a third segment, Jim's family is seated in a pew in a church watching Jim's niece be baptised. The camera panned slightly to the left. In the pew across from them was me and my family. We were there for my nephew's baptism. None of us knew each other yet. Talk about being weirded out!

What was it Marcus said to Lydia about Toledo? (You read the novel; consider this a pop quiz. Lol.) βTwo hundred and ninety-five thousand and twenty-nine, as of the last census,β he informed her. βGive or take. Of course, thatβs within the city limits. The population for Lucas County is four hundred and forty-five thousand two hundred and eighty-one. Add in the eight surrounding counties and youβve got over a million.β

Your writing style works well as it makes your message more powerful with your clear, simple, statements. Yes, I, too, know that "ebil writer lady",

Thanks for the fave on the prologue of jon.com. That short piece may be the best thing I've ever written, but then again, I'm partial to Jon. It's nice that others appreciate it.

Anyone who tackles writing does, me included. We are a mix of ego, fear, self-doubt and self-delusion.

I've read a bit of your journal and don't really know what to say. D: Just that hi, welcome to dA, and I'll keep reading. Your story is very important and sad, but I'm glad you're here to share it with us. Just from your writing style (yeah, you do have one! xD ) I can see you're a nice and witty person. SO hi and good luck to you. I'll be lurking.

Wow! I have a writing style? Hell, I've barely written high school essays. All this attention to my writing is a bit overwhelming, but I'm so happy people are reading. Thanks a lot!

I don't know, I like to assume you write how like you speak? Because it's autobiographical, it's entertaining in a lit way, but clear and conversational in a tone way. I personally haven't written two words about myself intending it to be a thing for others. Journals on DA, etc, don't count, I just blabber. But you definitely put effort into your journals. Not suuuure what I'm trying to say. >_> But it's something about something.
