Alice stood nervously next to Connor as she looked at all the kids. She saw each table had different kids and guessed each house had there own table. Alice glanced at Connor beside her and shuffled her feet

(What house will Alex end up in? I'm sending Connor to either Hufflepuff or Gryffendor)
"You as nervous as I am?" He asked in a meek voice, uncomfortable with all of the older students looking their way.

"I understood what you said." He nodded; "but yeah, I hope we end up in the same house somehow."
Eventually, his name was called. He took a deep breath and put the hat on, letting the whole school know he would be a.. "GRYFFINDOR!"

Alice wished him good luck before we went up there. "GRYFFINFOR!" She cheered as her friend got put into Gryffindor.
She was up next and she nervously walked up to the chair where a professor was waiting for her to sit down. Alice sat in the chair and waited quietly and the hat decided.

"GRYFFINDOR!" Alice squealed with joy and said a small thank you to the Sorting Hat out of habit and speed walked over to Connor. The Gryffindors were cheering and clapping as I walked passed them

"Looks like we're here together, huh?" The brown haired pre-teen grinned, sitting down on the table.

"Seems like it" She smiled. She sat down next to him and looked up and down the table.

"Hmm. Not much food for a feast, is there?" Connor remarked, noticing the lack of food.

Alice looked at the plates then sat there a bit. "Oh! I remember, my mom told me that after the First Years get sorted into Houses, the feast starts! And it will probably be brought here with magic." She smiled and watched the other students.
(Should Harry's and Ginny's children be in here? Along with Hermione's and Ron's children?

"All my ma said was "avoid peeves", whatever that means." Connor shurugged, not used to the magical world that much.

A Gryffindor girl turned to yes and giggled "I think your mom meant "avoid peeves" as in "avoid Peeves. He's the school poltergeist." "And a pain too" another Gryffindor said. Alice smiled and looked over to Connor "There's your answer! Thank you!" Sh politely thanked the girl

"Hold the phone. Poltergeist? As in a ghost?" Connor asked, his eyes widening. "Of ALL the things she could have told me about the magic world, she ignores ghosts?" He grumbled, clearly having not been told much by his mother about how the magical world worked.

"Well, what did you expect, a normal school with no magic what-so-ever?" Alice did hands movements to go with her sentence. She then grabbed a book from her bag and put it in front of Connor. "My mom gave me this because she knows that I really like animals. It's about different Mythical Creatures in the magic world" She smiled and opened up the book. "Have fun!"

"Oh, well maybe she wanted you to experience them yourself?" She shrugged and turned to her bag, picking up a pen and paper. 'Notes' was written on it.

Alice wrote down a few things on her pad and closed it. "So, when is the food gonna get her?" She asked the Gryffindors, who were currently messing around with each other

"Any moment now, firstie." One of the 7th years answered. Watching as the headmistress began to call out seemingly random words.

"Oh?" She waited patiently as she turned her attention to the headmistress (i almost put 'deadmistress' o.o)Β

"- as always, the forbidden forest is FORBIDDEN. Well, I hope you all have a fantastic year, and let the feast begin!" She called, making the two first years realise they missed most of her speech.

Alice's face went panic stricken. She didn't hear the speech. Her mother always said Wait! Watch! Listen! and she failed that lesson already.
