I think you need to adjust your scanner to get a bit more contrasty and darker outcome AND do more darker lines.
It is time for you to be brave! Let the actually 100% usable designs go and do some rokoko stuff with the crossguard. Put some kind of animals - easier ones - leaves, maybe feathers etc in them. Become a bit more chaotic.
Then.... become a LOT more chaotic. As much as you alias demands...
