0____0 If you can do that with Ms Paint you'll kill with any of the open source programs or even Manga Studio/Clip Studio Art or Corel Painter.

Krita, Gimp, Medibang, Inkscape, Firealpaca.... etc.... Sketchbook Pro....

I see you mostly draw humans...so if you use my art for a reference, you wouldn't be drawing a human (cause I don't draw two legs)...hm, can't wait to see!

(best wishes to you too~)

And when you do, tell me in THIS comment~thanks!

Be honest with yourself... about what art program you want to use

I wanted a tablet for years but didn't invest in it.Β
There was an art program in the school but i didn't pursue it.
I didn't get a tablet until I was 23 years old... And that was because I begged my uncle for money to by one because sitting alone in the house by myself was really depressing and then my parents would ask why I spent my time drawing --- apparently opposed to going out and handing with ppl or something.Β

I got the tablet. I used DA MURO. I knew that i did not like DA MURO.

This reminds me of when I majored in Political Science when in reality I wanted to major in a foreign language....Β

I wanted to use Paint Tool SAI or Photoshop.

And eventually I found a way to get what I wanted...Β

Be honest with yourself.

Use the Programs that make you feel inspired.Β

Stop settling for second best just because someone or something makes you question yourself.Β

I actually feel more accomplished for being able to use cheap/free alternatives deftly.

I felt that way about DA MURO because most people suck at using it...

You can practice on the Drawplz forum....Β
forum.deviantart.com/devart/dr…

Or you can just see some awesome work that ppl made with leh free program:

Thanks. I appreciate the encouragement.

Also, please forgive me for my excessive verbiage. I usually feel more comfortable writing more formally, because I can express opinions in greater detail.

The dictionary is like a drug to me. I can't stay away from it for too long or I feel withdrawal.Β

If someone leaves you with a 64 color palette should you always limit yourself to 16 colors?

Sorry, that last comment sounded rude and snobbish.

To rephrase it better. I enjoy making art that looks cool with medium that's usually though of as cheap or low-class. Crayola, Pentel, and Bic are some of my favorite brands to use.

On my other account AfricanAmericanAnime I was dead set on using DA MURO and proving to myself that I could accomplish anything with it

Boychic and other users had to slowly convert me to Paint Tool Sai over a period of like 3-4 months.... So....Β

Yeah....

At least take a stab at Da MURO...Β

I'll try DA MURO, but most likely I'll stick with MS paint in the nearer future.

Why not just be good all around.... ?
There's nothing wrong with being a well -rounded artist

Eclectic Asylum Art Β on Youtube is an example
He's the guy that drew Santa Claus in MS Paint
He can work with anything...

Pastels
Crayons
Cheetos
Chalk
MS Paint
Pennies

I do possess skills in several mediums to include pastels, paint (acrylic and oil), charcoal, graphite, ink, and other dry mediums.

I just happen to prefer dry mediums due to ease of control, and the vast majority of of artistic experience being invested in drawing with pencils on paper.

DrawPlzForum In reply to NaiveCompetence [2015-07-01 23:53:54 +0000 UTC]

Never got to use pastels, charcoal or graphite and the paint I used was that cheap stuff at like the 99 cents store....Β

You should post it up...

And yes, pastels are... very upsetting sometimes...Β

I glad for the info on page customization. I'm still new to DA and a bit in the dark about some things.
