thanks - yeah, the leaves are a combo of the aperture i had (i think the sun was coming from more or less directly above me, so it would have been stopped down a fair bit) and the bad scan, which is the silver lining to having such bad quality.

as for cropping - more emphasis could be placed on the bird by getting rid of some of the outside bits, but i kind of like the way that the railing frames it (though it would be better probably without the long part on the left hand side).

plus, although it's a bit of an old fashioned idea, i kind of prefer not to digitally manipulate my photos a whole lot, short of re-sizing and that sort of thing.

i'll check out those scanners - i think the lide 60 wasgoing for about a $100...not bad, and i definitely need/want to get one. thanks.

hey thanks for the awesome comment (on both my accounts ) anyways ... i used to get the macaddict cds too after my dad was done with them... i loved all those games!!! now i just go to the apple.com to get them. but the games are still not as good as the old ones. im going to you ... just because you like macs too ... and your photos are good. its cool you live right across the lake!!! do you ever come to rochester??? lots of good stuff to take photos of over here

I didn't develop any of the photos I have in my gallery (I'd like to try, but colour seems very complicated to do), although I do print b+w photos (haven't scanned them yet).

the light in crystal clear is really neat - i'd be really interested to see what happens with coloured light.

on another note...you have good music
rammstein and system of a down are two of my favourite bands (i'm actually going to see soad in about an hour or two).

i seem to be having the same problem with school/photography, so good luck with that.
