I had plans in the past to train with swords, but even though I own many, that never happened. Instead, I use metal rods in combat practice. I find them slightly more versatile than a sword, but I know very well that in the proper hands, a sword can match, even surpass the plus sides of what I use.
Anyway, as far as swords, I was to learn iaido, but as I said, I didn't get that opportunity. I know a few basic moves such as proper blocking depending on the regions of aim, but that's about it. xD One day I'll learn the rest, though!

That's pretty cool though. I've always wanted to learn, but had no real access to the instruction. Then I took up archery when I finally got a real decent bow, and fell immediately in love with it.

I haven't really done much by way of visual art in a while. Just really isn't my forte, a little bit of painting here and there, but that's about it. Right now, I'm getting started on a project with a friend of mine, for which she's illustrating, and I'm writing. But I don't feel like posting anything anymore, because every other journal I see on here anymore is someone's art getting ripped off.

You are right, but there aren't a whole lot of original ideas in general. My recent art, case in point. I have always loved the planet drawings of Galileo and every time I start a drawing that is a circle- I'm like "there I go again, Galileo" but they aren't the same and we can't deny that we are the sum of all the input we receive. A truly original idea is a rare blessing...
But then again- I don't read other people's journals anymore than I write my own. So, I really wouldn't know...

Thank you for being the artist you are. Your earlier journal actually helped me think a lot of things through. I'm no good with realism myself, and let it make me quit for a while altogether. Tore down pretty much all deviations.

I've heard of Latvia, I don't know much about it though. I wasn't sure if the native language was called Latvian or not. And at the moment, I'm living in Florida, though I want to leave within a few months, it's too hot here.
