Thanks so much for your words! That's really encouraging for me, I absolutely love getting messages like yours.

As for pony manes, I often struggle with them as well! I do try to use human hair as a reference but it tends to not do much in the way of inspiration.

It's best if you suit the pony's mane of his/her special talent! For example, if you had a character that does, perhaps, something involving high speed, your character needs a relatively short mane style, otherwise their long hair would get caught!

Another thing I do is also base it off of their special talent too. I have a character that works with food, so her mane is a very similar shape to the food she works with the most.

Also, you need to be aware of personality. If your character is a huge tomboy (like Rainbow) she's not going to have this long curly hair with flowers placed in every inch of it.

Also be aware of the colors you're using and try to limit them down to just a few, as well as making sure they go well with the base color of your pony. Never go for a scene hairstyle, and never go for something completely black.

Well, I hope that helps you at least a little bit! I'm not really good at explaining things well so I hope my massive comment makes sense to you.

Sure! Most of your adopts are pretty alright anyway, so I don't really think there's too much to be said from me! I guess, you should try to keep your adopts simple; don't clutter them with strange patterns and multiple colors (or the same color), and try to avoid using gradients (especially rainbow ones).

I think this goes for your other adopts as well ^^ And if you want to go for a more a original route, try to avoid using bases and don't overdo the same hairstyle. (That doesn't really matter though if they buyer plans on changing them a bit anyway)

However, I'm kind of having trouble properly critiquing her! Would you prefer it if I did a redraw instead? I don't really want to confuse you with a poorly done critique (I'm really out of it at the moment, I'm sorry) and redraws are much easier to do. I also need examples for redraw commissions, anyway, so I'll be happy to do one for free!

Some people can be insulting sometimes, but sometimes in these harsh insults they can be right unfortunately, but then you can see your mistakes/mishaps through the eyes of somebody else and you know what to improve on!

And yes, I understand the dark/techno themes... When you're interested in these sorts of things it only makes sense you want to base it around that! I'm into country music myself oTL, I have a country themed FC hidden among the depths of deviantART

I don't think it's wrong to have a dark themed FC, it's just it doesn't really fit into the canon universe, and 'canon' is what most people want to see, haha.

She's cute! But she unfortunately shares very similar traits to Pinkemena, so I wouldn't recommend using pink as her color scheme. I'd suggesting basing it more around red like that strawberry in her cutie mark.

Is she a deer? If so, the flank would probably be a better place for them! 

For some reason, that specific tone of brown looks strange on her, I'd suggest playing around with different colors or shades off brown until you find something you like. I'd suggest white, honestly, to give her a more 'wintery' look, to fit with her name.

I wouldn't suggest the shape of those horns! I hope you don't mind this, but I have a slight edit here for you: sta.sh/0zr17dvzeal (I'll remove it if you want, no biggie!)

Other than that, not bad! I like where you're going with her!

Yes sure! This might seem a little harsh though, sorry!

I want to say that while Sun Dance is cute, there a quite a few things wrong with her, such as the overcrowding and color clash. Also, I'm not quite sure why she's an alicorn, it does seem strange so I'd recommend picking between either Pegasus or unicorn (Unless her special talent has to do with something important).

You also might want to simplify her a bit, remove some of her colors, and also try to avoid the hoof detailing, mares don't have that. ^^

Willow, I'll be honest, I like her! It's not really 'cannon' but that may have been your 

intention anyway. I'm just a bit confused with her bio though, why did BS kill her?

I can't really say much about Broken Soul, I'm mainly just curious about his scars and what the things on his legs do. Also, I'm not so sure about the red eye, why is it red?

'Talentless' Kitty is my favorite! I repeat what I said before about the hoof-detailing though, it's not a mare trait.

Sun was my first mlp OC so I didnt really know about how alicor OCs are hated.
I drew her in the style Ive used before and kinda liked those things on her hooves. also...all horses have that irl XD

scars - he commited suicide (that should explain it)
the things on his hooves are theere just so he looks badass XD
and ghosts usually have those weird eyes so I made his eyes red. Also its part of species Im working on... (ghosty stuff)

I'm just curious about why she is an alicorn though, and in emergencies, what exactly does the bottle do? It's a good idea, I just think you need to explain it a bit more. ^^

As for the bio, I want to state that alicorns are usually thousands of years old, as they're considered gods in the MLP universe.

She's actually pretty OK! The colors are quite nice together, but I think what you could do is match the eye color with something in the cutie mark, just to spread the color around a bit more.
