I sent an angel to watch over you last night, but it came back and I asked, "why?"...the angel said, "angels don't watch over angels!" Twenty angels are in your world. Ten of them are sleeping, nine of them are playing and one of them is reading this message. God has seen you struggling with some things and god says its over. A blessing is coming your way. If you believe in god send this to 14 friends including me, if I don't get it back I guess I'm not one of them as soon as you get 5 replies, someone you love will quietly surprise you... Not joking. Pass this message on. Please don't ignore it. You are being tested and god is going to fix big things tonight in your favor. If you believe in god drop everything and pass it on TOMORROW WILL BE THE BEST DAY OF YOUR LIFE. DON'T BREAK THIS SEND IT TO 14 FRIENDS IN 10 MINUTES IT'S NOT THAT HARD. WHOEVER SENT THIS TEXT MUST CARE

That's coolΒ Β  I was in a band for a little while but there were too many disagreements between the band members about the direction that we should go in. Β Now I'm the drummer in the praise team at my church. Β I would love a set of acoustic drums but I think that the older ladies' perms would straighten out then curl back tighter than before! To be honest it's a wonder that I haven't caused any heart attacks.Β Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RelativelyExtreme In reply to RhythmicEssence [2013-11-29 21:01:47 +0000 UTC]

I'm sorry to hear that about your band! It seems the ill fate of many groups of musicians. So you're a pretty intense drummer, then? XD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RhythmicEssence In reply to RelativelyExtreme [2013-11-29 22:29:42 +0000 UTC]

When I want to beΒ Β  I get bored quickly if the beat is too simple so I'm usually finding ways to make things more interesting. I especially love coming up with creative fills and unusual beats with the toms. The good part about my electric drum set is that I can program it to go "aaaaaaayyyeah!" when I hit the one cymbal. Β Of course, I take advantage of that function when the pastor is making the announcements! Β For example, take something boring such as, "there will be an elders meeting this Thursday" and add an "aaaaaaayeah" from the drum set and the announcement suddenly becomes interesting. Β Β

Bahahaha that's pretty great XD oh, the joys of modern electronics! My church is fairly conservative, so it was livened up quite a bit by the recent addition of acoustic guitar parts to most services (not me, unfortunately. I'm not home often enough for that) so I can only imagine what kind of uproar a full drumset would cause XD my younger brother plays drums, so I've tried my hand at his drumset a few times. I think guitar is more my thing

ahhhhhhyeah!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RhythmicEssence In reply to RelativelyExtreme [2013-12-05 04:50:11 +0000 UTC]

Aaaaahhhhyeah! Β Our church was pretty conservative when we arrived. Β They had an acoustic guitar and a pianist that was there like one Sunday a month or so. Β They had prayed for two years for a praise team...I wonder if they would have prayed so hard if they would have known that we were what they were going to get! My mom is the keyboardist and a part time vocalist. Β My dad keeps us organized, chooses the songs and leads the worship even though he couldn't sing on key to save his life. Β We have quite a bit of fun though. Β For example, a few weeks ago the pastor was preaching on Daniel in the lion's den, so the praise team broke out into 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight' before he went up to preach! Β Of course, with me in the band I don't think anything surprises anyone anymore. If your church is still new to the acoustic guitar I would love to see the expressions on their faces if someone came in with a drumset! Β Why aren't you home enough to play the guitar there? College? And yeah, drums aren't for everyone.Β Β  I'm lucky enough to play both guitar and drums. I'm not a great guitarist by any means, but I can play well enough that I can use my guitar instead of a backing track when I sing special music. Β That is a good thing because there are no backing tracks for original songs! I would be in quite a pickle.Β

RelativelyExtreme In reply to RhythmicEssence [2013-12-05 11:24:27 +0000 UTC]

I lol'd at your 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight' bit. That's awesome that everyone has so much fun there. And it's really cool that your family's so involved but yeah, I go to college in Milwaukee which is about 2 hours away from home. Since I'm pretty busy with schoolwork most of the time, I usually only go home for breaks between trimesters (yeah, my school is weird), Christmas break, and spring break (which we don't have this year! *enraged face*). Although I've been living mostly in Milwaukee the last few years, I've never really found a new church, or even a place to get my hair cut, for that matter... So I still rely on home for certain things like that Β

In regards to your guitar-ing, that's awesome do you do a lot of original stuff? Also, that's totally fine. Long posts don't bother me any, I might just take longer to reply as I collect my thoughts XD
