(sorry for the delayed response here, dude)

Oh it was great! I was sort of bummed because after the "opening acts" (which consisted of some pretty well known Boston/New England indie rappers) a lot of people walked out. So, right before El came out there was MAYBE twenty people in there. But it didn't really matter because El came out and the people who stayed where definitely there for him.

Got to meet him after the show. The man is as nice as can be.

Sounds good, EL-P is an interesting artist but his stuff flips me out. If I listen to him too much it messes with my head. That's kind of odd that most of the crowd left before the main act came on. I'll have to check on youtube and see if anyone put up any video of the show. I guess El's music is a bit hard to take in for most people is probably why a large portion of the crowd walked out before he performed.

yeah dude, I have to agree - I think a lot of people came to see B. Dolan and Sage Francis (who were also great). I love El, his set was great but, man, I think Cage's show was the best one I've ever been to.

Sage Francis is pretty popular now, although I never got into his stuff really. I haven't heard of the other guy, but Cage was the best. I saw him during the 'I Hate It' tour in the winter of '08 and he puts on a much better show now than he did then. He's my favorite artist on Definitive Jux and indie rap in general

Seriously, that was bullshit. Then all the opening acts were pretty dull too, the high point aside from Cage's performance itself was when he chased that comedian/host out of the venue for making stupid jokes.

yeah dude that was epic. the thing i just don't get is like, Cage throws a mic stand at the guy. Then the comedian actually walks over to him, like it's going to end well for him. He could've just moved the hell on but nope.

and yeah the opening acts were really excessive. The Nite People were pretty cool, but i don't think Yak went on until at least 12 or so.

Yeh, they always do that. The last and first Cage show I went to was during the 'I Hate it' Tour in winter '07 and they did a similar thing where the doors opened around 8:00 pm and Cage didn't perform until about 1:00 am or something, it's pretty ridiculous. Did Cage also punch that guy too? Do you remember exactly what joke the guy said in the first place, I vaguely remember it being offensive to Mexicans or something?

oh yeah he decked that dude. a few times

uhm... it was a few things he was saying. he insulted a few kids in the audience, threw the word "emo" around a lot. but that was after he said people who wanted to hear "Agent Orange" and "Suicidal Failure" were losers.

the mexican thing was... well, Cage said the dude was a fake because he told him he was mexican but told people he was white to get away with jokes. so Cage's point was he was being hypocritical for making fun of people for being themselves when he'd lie about himself for the sake of a joke.

which i wouldn't mind. if the guy was actually funny haha

Oh, haha. Thanks for clearing that up for me. I wonder why they even had him there in the first place. I mean it's not like he was doing anything entertaining and I think a DJ is enough to announce anything without having to have some random dude try to do stand up comedy. But in the end he made it better because he got knocked around by Cage which was much funnier than anything he was doing on his own. He flew out of that place pretty damn fast too, what a pussy.
