May your Muse laughingly cajole, convince, inspire, and take you on a beautiful and worthwhile drive to places and happy adventures you've never even imagined. May a justified belief that something wonderful is just around the corner brighten your life forever. May you not doubt your abilities, but labor successfully to expand them. May your dreams not prove nightmares, may you glimpse other strange worlds and let us share them with you--may those you love rejoice in you, and you in them, may joy and inspiration be faithful, friendly companions and helpers always. Happy Birthday, old friend. Everybody didn't forget--AND YOU KNOW IT!

I thoroughly enjoyed "The Chronicles of Loquacious,' and look forward to reading "Acts of Heroes." Alas, the only travel I'm doing lately is by car, so not getting much reading done, but it is on my reading list, just waiting for the Kindle edition.

I am doing my best to get ALL my works out as E-texts.  It is taking far more time after I did nearly all the work than I thought it would.  I would still enjoy a conversation on Google Plus or the like at any time we can arrange it.

My gmail is the same handle as here on dA, let me know when you might be available and we can set something up. I don't use Google+ currently but I can be taught

Just basically be logged onto your Gmail account and await the chat bubble. We should do that.

I'm pretty much permanently logged in to gmail via the iPad, but I don't always have the iPad on.
Happy birthday Rob!

I think I do have that.  Forgive my long delay, this account didn't generate the interest I'd hoped it would.

Sorry Rob, I wasn't aware; Happy Birthday to you as well!
I have a friend named Danny who has struggled with that his entire adult life, to the point where he has considered legally changing his name to "Daniel."
I did, and I began writing a review of it, but I've since misplaced it. I will find it and will let you know when I post it. It took me a while to get into the book, but after the third chapter or so it hooked me ( I think it was was when I figured out that the action took place around 325-300 BCE or so that I began to enjoy it more). I was saddened by Evadne, although her name was probably a strong hint as to what would happen to poor Loquacious. I did have a few questions about the weapons systems used in the story, are they all historically accurate? I know that the Ming dynasty had some pretty large ships, some over 200 feet wide and trice as long, but that would be a thousand years in the future. I googled polybolos and was surprised to learn that they (and Dionysius) actually existed, so I assume that everything else is real too? In any case, I enjoyed it and will recommend it to others.

All accurate.  I woke up this morning thinking of what I would like to tell you about The Kentauride.  We should do a Google Chat...  I would so appreciate a review.

We should, but not until I get my bandwidth issues sorted out, unless you'd like to use the keyboard...
I think I did figure out the caliber issue with a hint from Wnedy

That... you worked so HARD so WELL on so many details... it was a literally staggering (it staggered me!) lapse.  I would like to talk to you in real time about my issues with a work that was fascinating, intriguing, and could yet be made so much, much better.  Note how many revisions Orson Scott Card has gone through of A Planet Called Treason.

Well, that is why facts need to be double checked. My buddy said he owned a .256 pistol, but he never mentioned that it was a revolver, and I never told him I'd settled on the PPK. Since he's never read my book (unlike most of my other SMEs), I never closed the loop with him.
A phone conversation might make more sense, email me @gmail.com and we can set a time and date. It would have to be late evening (after 9) because my house is full of kids at the moment (long story).

So bloody busy these days... And I myself have new stories of hooved humans to write! I want to get out another book of my own work for you to savage as cruelly as I have savaged yours!  I suppose that's why I favor a chat-window, I can multi-task.

On a completely different note, from a conversation to which my notice was drawn...

Rob’s Modified Hot Buttered Rum

2 c. white sugar

1 t. nutmeg

½ t. ground cloves

1 t.  ground cardamom

½ t. allspice

¼ t. dried lemon peel

1 t. cinnamon

Combine all the above very thoroughly in a sealable container.  To prepare four small servings, combine

6 T. mix

1 T. molasses

3 c. water

½ t. vanilla

1 T. butter

Mix and heat the above, then ladle out with rum to taste, a full jigger is good per mug.  Prusser’s Royal Navy Rum has a very authentic flavor.  No bitter aftertaste, no particular need to refrigerate the mix.

You haven't really savaged it though, at least not that I've seen, and I'd really like to get more details at some point. I also just realized that I never posted my review of "The Chronicles of Loquacious, Centaur of Rhodes." Did I ever send it to you? Too many things going on, my little sister has been living with us with her four kids for the past several months and I think I'm sleep deprived. A chat window I can do, or even streaming audio, it's full motion video (facetime) that doesn't work very well.

I should be very gratified to see that... But one of the reasons I didn't post my review of The Kentauride was my issues with it, and I didn't want to damage your sales.  rsricebooks@gmail.com

I can't find the review, I suspect it may be on my wife's laptop (which is somewhere in Poland at the moment) but I will rewrite it if need be. There is just too much going on at the moment, and I am missing my deadlines for book three.
