The cruelest thing I'd do to a fairy if I caught one in my hands. Use the magic for myself

Can't complain. Just living life. Got iced in today, but I'm heading to Hawaii soon, so all good. Big plans this weekend?

Ah good luck with the ACT. I took it in 2004 or 2005. Haha. It's easier than the SAT though, at least as far as I recall.

Its kind of diffcult when your not a honor student
π: 0 β©: 1
lemontea In reply to Rubystar-chan [2013-12-07 00:32:53 +0000 UTC]
Being an honor student isn't the issue, it's just how much effort you put into it. I was a garbage student in high school, especially math. And now I'm a nuclear engineer. If you try, you'll make it. If you fail, try harder.

I plan to be a teacher either in Science or History or a serial killer teacher in college

Hey all good endeavors. Serial killers might be a little niche though! Hah

They are certainly interesting. I'll give them that. I'm definitely intrigued by them. Dexter is one of my favorite shows.

I've only seen house a few times. I like it though.
So what are you up to this week?
π: 0 β©: 1
Rubystar-chan In reply to lemontea [2013-12-09 02:02:31 +0000 UTC]
School. Snow. Dance. Homework. Dancing at Basketball games. That's about it I think
π: 0 β©: 1
lemontea In reply to Rubystar-chan [2013-12-09 09:02:11 +0000 UTC]
Sounds like fun. How'd you get into dance?
And don't freeze in that snow! We had a nice storm this last week, but I escaped it to go camping and I'm very thankful for that.

Rubystar-chan In reply to lemontea [2013-12-10 22:20:32 +0000 UTC]
I started dance when I was younger and I kept going with the same studio and for senior year I felt like doing something fun for it, and I joined Dance TEam.
It's sooooo cold here. The other day it was like -16 F with the windchill

lemontea In reply to Rubystar-chan [2013-12-11 15:15:48 +0000 UTC]
Ah that's awesome that you've stuck with it. Probably a lot of fn and good exercise. Though I can imagine it might be stressful too.
Wow. I'll pass on that! That's just awesome. Please don't freeze to death!

Rubystar-chan In reply to lemontea [2013-12-13 03:39:34 +0000 UTC]
It is very much. This is probably the last year I'm doing dance though.
I will try not! That's how my state is, just super cold during the winter and blazing hot during the summer
π: 0 β©: 1
lemontea In reply to Rubystar-chan [2013-12-16 15:35:03 +0000 UTC]
Ah, going to move on to something bigger, or just a change of pace?
Sounds like your state can't make up its mind hah.

Rubystar-chan In reply to lemontea [2013-12-16 23:57:41 +0000 UTC]
No I've just done it so much throughout my life, I've never had much outside of Dance or School.
It usually can't. Seasons in one day is a funny sight

lemontea In reply to Rubystar-chan [2013-12-17 20:37:41 +0000 UTC]
I understand that. Its quite a commitment. Now that I'm old and bound to my job, all I do is work. I basically never get a chance to do anything I want anymore. Kind of the sad reality of life. Just try to take advantage of any opportunities when you get them!
π: 0 β©: 1
Rubystar-chan In reply to lemontea [2013-12-19 21:36:53 +0000 UTC]
Of course. I still got all of college to get through first!

lemontea In reply to Rubystar-chan [2013-12-19 22:41:18 +0000 UTC]
Well my advice there is to do something practical that will get you a job. Too many people try to get music, art, and psychology degrees. Stick to business and finance, even if they suck.

But I'm really bad at math. So bad I keep forgetting how to count sometimes
π: 0 β©: 1
lemontea In reply to Rubystar-chan [2013-12-20 15:50:49 +0000 UTC]
I literally have to use my fingers to count, and I keep a calculator on me at all times to do even the simplest stuff. And believe it or not, I'm a nuclear engineering laboratory technician. I'm a nuclear chemist for the nuclear reactor on a submarine. You can do anything, as long as you put your mind to it. I would have never thought I would end up a nuclear engineer, but here I am.

Wow that's amazing. Do you work with the army or the navy at all?
I have a bunch of friends in JROTC
π: 0 β©: 1
lemontea In reply to Rubystar-chan [2013-12-21 06:48:36 +0000 UTC]
Well, I am the Navy, so yes. Been in about three years. Haven't worked with the Army yet but we did deal with the Air Force since I was on a joint service base. I never did ROTC but I hear its a good idea of basic military things.

Rubystar-chan In reply to lemontea [2013-12-21 14:48:49 +0000 UTC]
It is. Like my friends dress out every wes every week and they have annual inspections from really military people
π: 0 β©: 1
lemontea In reply to Rubystar-chan [2013-12-21 16:42:00 +0000 UTC]
Haha. Yeah, sounds like basic trading stuff. I haven't had a real inspection in a couple of years. That said, I'm not low ranking anymore so I guess technically I'd be the one giving the inspections now.

So do you have to travel alot then?
π: 0 β©: 1
lemontea In reply to Rubystar-chan [2013-12-24 15:47:22 +0000 UTC]
In theory, yes, but it depends on what happens to your boat and where you get sent. I just flew in to Hawaii last night, which is nice. And rumor has it I'll be out to sea coming up soon. Who knows where it'll take me!
π: 0 β©: 1
Rubystar-chan In reply to lemontea [2013-12-24 21:30:45 +0000 UTC]
That's really cool. I haven't traveled far past my state. I've been to other states once in a while but other than that not much.
But I am from China

lemontea In reply to Rubystar-chan [2013-12-25 17:40:05 +0000 UTC]
Yeah I appreciate the opportunity that's for sure. I have a deployment coming up that will take me to Japan, Singapore, and Thailand. Are you actually from the country or just ethnically Chinese?
