To help you up with the Digital Sets Setup ...
So that you can translate Your Novels in a CONCEPT COLORS Format ...
Mixing Photos + 3D + Your draws ABOVE 3D ...
This By Steps ...
0) Make characters in 3d daz reallusion Pose them in Scenes ...
1) Sketch in paper as you usto ... Looking at 3d scenes references
2) Photoshop Add Photos + 3D landscape + 3D char
3) Mix the Sketch Above all that
4) Go crazy with a Cintic and Concept paint all background
5) use the 3d characters scenes in Grayscale to Add Above Your draws

You can use this Tecniques very Easy / with your Current Lineart Style ...
Basically the Time you spend doing lineart instead you do the 3 steps above in same time ...
And instead of having a Traditional ( Sketch + Lineart ) = black & Withe Inked comics ...
You go to Full Painting With Photo + 3d to 2D Shading in Black & withe ... Bellow your draws ...
To have a more painted Grounded look .. instead of just a Flat lines + flat colors Work ...
