I merely view it as a metaphor for negative emotions, such as anger, depression, envy etc.. Anything that can hinder with ones happiness.

Of course, there's always the "satanic" version, which are often angry ghosts or demons and whatnot. However, I've looked up satanism but they don't view Satan/Lucifer or demons as evil but rather quite the opposite.

Well, I'm not really a religious person. I consider myself a pantheist, though I do like to study different types of religious beliefs. They're quite interesting.

Interesting. I like to ask because the answer is always different. I have my religious beliefs but most of that is between me and my God. I'm not one to push my thoughts onto others.

Ah, Lucifer. It's funny that most people forget he is an Angel. And that all demons are created by him. I think we all have our demons within us. There is a tv show I enjoy watching called Supernatural. I like the concept that demons are created from the souls of particularly bad humans. Which follows an interesting question I once heard. If Satan is evil and enjoys spreading evil, wouldn't he reward humans that were wicked instead of punishing them in hell, since they're promoting what he promotes? Hmm, got a bit off topic.

Agreed, religion is an interesting subject to study.
