I wish they were mine! Sadly, I don't own the wildlife I work with! But I work with them as often as possible and one day I'll have my own ambassadors like them~ And don't worry, they only bite their food! Wolves, like all other animals, have the natural "fight or flight" response to situations and will ONLY choose fight if there is NO other way out. They're all about self-preservation~ Damu and Cael both LOVE to give kisses ^^

Oh, that's nice to see! But I'm a bit doubtful about the ultimate 'fight or flight' statement. I live in a northern city. Actually, there are no wolves exactly where I live as it's a city, but there are gray wolves in the countryside. So we are tough to perform self defense in case they atack (not sure that it works or if I'll manage to do it). Also I heard about woman who saved her life by acting on adrenaline. She was along and defenseless and the wolf was along. But it attacked anyway.
Also people die quite often here from the attacs of the dogs that go wild and form flocks. I don't know if that dogs sick with madness or not, but they chase people that walk along just for fun. I've been in that situation. For God's sake that dogs were not big, small actually, but there were many. I managed to stay calm and let them twitch the bottom of my trousers and shirt. And they were having fun, pulling me from left to right, back and forth, and I were following their moovements praying inwardly not to fall on the ground. Soon they probably found it was funny, for them it sure was, and stopped that, starting not to growl but to sweet talk and wag their tails. So I smiled and even patterned their heads with my hands still trembling. The too dogs began to fight for my caress, upposely that was the leader of the flock and his closest friend. The leader put the dog in her place swiftly.
Afterwards the gigs  heard that there were a cow also all along in the field, tinkering her neck bell and they lost interest at me and run upwards her. I listened her loud bellows as they surrounded her barking.
So in my opinion the statement that dogs or wolves are good if you don't scare them is far from absolute...

I know in Europe its different with wolves as they have been not taught to fear man as much as here in North America where in the last 100 years there have been only two deaths that were maybe wolves. (They both happened away from other eyes.) In other countries wolf deaths a year are equal to that of sharks at about ten people killed a year. However, those wolves who attack are either mad (Angry or insane), think you're an intruder, or are starving.
And dogs are not comparable to wolves in attack or deaths, in North America (Using it as an example once more as its where I live~) more people have been attacked or killed by dogs this year so far than most people have touched a real wolf. 
The thing you have to keep in mind is that wolves are predators, why waste energy on killing something that is much more capable of fighting back than an elk when they an hunt proper prey? They won't attack for pleasure, no good reason. And the ones I work with can have a bird perch right on their noses and wouldn't know what to do. I can stick my thumb in their mouths without fear, so these guys are of no concern ^^

Well, I see now. Thanks for sharing this information. I though knew of the aspect of historical process of getting wolves acquainted with humans in your country.

She is doing good. I was thinking of calling her Ally, but people are telling me it is too close to my old birds name (Ollie). LOL I just call her the bird or the red-tail.
