I just logged on briefly and hadn't really checked my front page! I'm sorry about that; usually I'm much better about things. I've been working pretty much seven days a week and it's made me a little crazy at this point.
It sounds like you are going to be the busy one this autumn, which will probably make the time fly. Good luck with 6th grade...they'll be little women any second now.
I noticed you put a painting up but I just haven't had the time to sit down and really go through the good stuff. I've saved it however, and look forward to more comments!
thanks for "stopping by" and keeping me posted!

It's great to hear from you again. I am very happy with these drawings. Although I have not had too many new ones this past wek or so. My Digital Photo course starts this Wed and I am all in a dither gettin gmy syllabus and power point lectures ready. things should settle down abit although I am carrying five sections of drawing at the other college for the fall quarter. It's nice to get paid but it tends to cut into studio time. But as my boss said - fall is a busy quarter take the hours while you can.
My girls start school this Wed as well - 6th grade so the whole house is humming with Back to school energy.
Hope you are well and enjoying these last weeks of summer

And it is a delight to hear from you again as well.
Its just about the end of spring quarter and two weeks off loom ahead. Even though the kids will be home as well, I am hoping to be productive for 10 days or so before we head off to the beach for a little r&r.
I am going to paint ... yes ... paint
let's see how it goes

I've kept the comment you replied back with and have been struggling with finding something that would help you feel the bug to paint. I'll think of something...I hope.
If not, maybe the rest and vacation will fill you with a new found desire to hit the acrylics.

Actually my desire is very high - been that way for a good while - my challenge is kind of a performance anxiety and fear of failure (making messes)
I just have to jump in . . . it's so easy to say . . . so hard to do.
I am inspired and intimidated at the same tiome by some of the wonderful talent I see around here.
stay tuned and thanks for "musing" on it with me.
regards
Richard

Kristen,
You certainly have been busy, It seems liek we have spent Valentine's day together ...
You writing and me drawing. Great observations as always. As you can see th ework goes pretty well. I love this new schedule with teaching two days and hiding away in the studio the other three. Family is away on vacation next week so I can work around the clock. I actually may use the time to really launch into painting and end this little procrastination tapdance I have been doing for way too long.
Also there's a wonderful new model [link] I am working with and that'salways an energizer.
Thanks for your enthusiasm and your great eye.
regards

Kristen,
Welcome back to my gallery. It is always a treat when you visit and "write 'em up."
I took your suggestion on 213 - it was something I questioned with the first scan and you were right, it just didn't have the stuff.
Did some redraw and reshot it - thanks for your estute eye. the original is in scraps and linked with my other comment.
Happy Valentine's day BTW - I hope someone special surprises you today
regards

Richard--
I love helping out, and I'm glad my critique helped. I love seeing the experiments you engage in to expand your talent. I'm tremendously behind on commenting, but schoo's been busy this semester.
Happy V-day back atcha, I'm looking forward to a wonderful time at home with a good meal!

Kristen,
I am tickled to see my drawing featured here on your page. You are the best. The only downside to your wonderful comentary on my submissions is that I feel compelled to find a good time to thoughtfully reply rather than simply dash of a thank you.
See my note

Wow.
About all I can say is, "Oh to have studio time around the Central Great Lakes..."
And not that I should really be sending this slacker any more page traffic ( ), but you may want to take a look at Sandro Whitson 's work. Some of his tamer stuff seems to be a good match for you, stylistically. Of course, I could just be way off base here...

Wonderful observation on the latest batch of drawings. I am thrilled that you find them so compelling and as always I really appreciate the thoughtful remarks on the work.
Last week was a total wash for teh studio - first week of classes and this school has more paperwork than the army I am sure. But now I don't have a class till frday so I should be able to work up a few new drawings - maybe even start a painting before that.
All the best
stay warm - it's 13 degrees in CT this morning - I don't even want to know what it is where you are.
regards

Thanks so much Richard! I love being around to help in whatever way I can.
My birthday has been pretty low-key; I'm not a huge party person, but I still have fun.
