Hey! No problem, thanks for watching!
I was checking out your profile and couldn't help thinking, how does a brazilian girl have such a command of the irish language? You speak it better than most of the people I know!

oh...it's a long long story xD but to shorten it, most of my childhood friends are Irish, even though I've never been to Ireland (it's my dream to go there! hopefully I'll be able next year!!!)
well maybe...(as a "linguist wannabe" lol) I've got an explanation for that: I Ireland. Since child ^^ I guess there's no language that couldn't be easily learnt, as long as you get on well with all the culture & tradition & history behind such a language
for example sean nĂłs music, ceilĂ dancin, irish food (yummy!!) and all other awesome irish stuff *_*
but thanks a lot for the compliment hope 2 see u when I go there!
ps.: gaeilge agatsa? xD

I guess when we hear about the history and live among the traditions every day we don't really stop to appreciate it. It's probably the same in all cultures! Irish food is a new one though! Hahaha, what's your favourite dish? I didn't know we had much famous foods other than stew and potatoes!
Tå cupla focal agam ach tå brón orm nach bhfuil mé ró-mhaith! Nà chaithim a lån åm ag caint gaeilge nuair bhà mé óg toisc ni raibh an-fonn ar mo mhuinteoir é a mhuineadh! Tå sé ina nåire i mo thuairim.
how long have you been studying the irish language? I'm very curious because the system we have here for teaching irish isn't very good.

Irlandesaaa In reply to SirFuzzyCarl [2011-07-14 00:45:54 +0000 UTC]
yes, but it's impossible to speak a language if u don't get involved with its cultural aspects ^^ for example it would be offensive in Brazil to say "your illness", even if the person is undoubtedly ill. You'd rather say "the illness you've got". In Irish there's a further distance between the person and the illness, for it's something "atĂĄ ort".
excuse the sad example lol i was makin a medical glossary for a possible translation xD
why everyone laughs when i say irish food is yummy? lol it's delicious! I luv lamb stew, scones, boxty, cabbage, gingerbread...
nĂĄ habair Ă©! tĂĄ gaeilge an-mhaith agat go deimhin! ^^ aww chualas trĂĄcht ar an cĂłras oireachtais in Ăireann agus an Ghaeilge. TĂĄ sĂ© mar an gcĂ©anna le BĂ©arla i mBrasaĂl, mar shampla: nĂl sĂ© mĂșinte go maith i scoil ar bith, sĂł mĂĄs mian leat Ă© a fhoghlaim agus BrasaĂleach tĂș, is gĂĄ duit freastal ar chĂșrsa teanga Ă©igin (costasaaaach!) nĂł cairdeas a dhĂ©anamh le daoine thar lear chun Ă© a chleachtadh go fiĂș xD ach nĂ raibh mĂłrĂĄn suim agam i mBĂ©arla riamh lena bheith fĂrinneach...d'fhoghlaim mĂ© cĂșpla focal chun a bheith in ann ceachtanna gaeilge a thuiscint lol sĂł chuireas feabhas ar an mbĂ©arla de rĂ©ir a chĂ©ile, ach bhĂ gaeilge agam cheana ^^'
7 years, I guess. It's my second language. My family's always had some "irish" traditions, especially in the kitchen ^^ (it's funny though, coz I'm a german descent instead xD) but i've learnt the language "trà chleachtas amhåin" w/friends and lookin at some grammar online, but sin an méid (<-- as u can see there r some things i still dont know in English lol that's so nåireach!! especially for a translator! xD). I've also got the hobby of irish dancin in small rooms (such as mine lol) and practicin sean nós (well, that's kinda relaxin!)
cad is ainm duit? mise NatĂĄlia ^^

TĂĄ brĂłn orm go bhfuil nĂor a lĂĄn gaeilge sa nĂłta seo. Ach tĂĄ suil agam go mbeidh lĂĄn gaeilge sa nĂłta seo chugainn nuair beidh cabhrĂș agam Ăł mo chairde. Oh, is mise Matt, go raibh maith agat!
Ta nĂĄire ar mise! NĂ feidir liom caint gaeilge ach is mise duine gaeilge! Ach fĂ©ach ar tĂșsa, is feidir leat caint gaeilge agĂșs rugadh tĂș i mBrazil!
Gabh mo leithscĂ©al, tĂĄ cuplĂĄ botĂșn ann!
Haha, personally I love asian food! When you come over to Ireland you should definitely spend some time in the ring of Kerry! In my opinion it's the most beautiful part of Ireland and most people there will be as surprised as I am to hear a brazilian girl speaking as gaeilge. You're gonna get a lot of people who will want to hear your story I hope you have fun anyway! Ireland has a lot to offer if you look in the right places, just try not to get sucked in to all the tourist rubbish. The best way to discover Ireland is to talk to the people.

A Matt, nĂĄ bĂ brĂłnach. TĂĄ do dhĂcheall ĂĄ dhĂ©anamh agat, s'Ă©ard is tĂĄbhachtaĂ deas cloisint go mbeidh mĂ© i dteagmhĂĄil le gaeilgeoirĂ eile, ĂĄfach
is breĂĄ liom aithne a chur ar go leor leor daoine i nGaeilge ^^
bhuel, nĂl teanga nĂĄdĂșrtha na BhrasaĂle agam ach an oiread! (ar nĂłs tupi nĂł guarani) agus brasaĂleach mise. ScĂ©al cĂ©anna. NĂ thuigeann daoine (don chuid is mĂł) "cĂ©n fĂĄth" go bhfuil gaeilge agam nĂł go bhfuil mĂ© chomh "gaelach" sin, ach creidimse gur ar son na paisean atĂĄ sĂ© agus sin an mĂ©id. NĂ gĂĄ bheith SeapĂĄnach chun dĂșil a bheith agat i manga & anime... mar an gcĂ©anna, nĂ gĂĄ bheith Ăireannach chun Gaeilge a labhairt! (i mo thuairim ^^').
omg, me too!! especially japanese! what's your favourite dish? I luv leeks, temaki, onigiri, squid, yakibifum...everythin! xD (except sashimi...not very keen on raw fish to b honest^^')
but irish food is still my fave one ever
hahah aye maybe i should take a couple of months off and visit everywhere in Ireland instead (well, there's no harm in daydreamin xD) but sure, the Kerry gaeltacht is on my "must see places" list already
btw which place would u recommend me to visit first? Donegal or Galway? lol (someone's asked me a similar question and i wasnt able to answer xD i need more research! and hints!
)
ahahah suuure!! and i'll be pleased to tell the same story again and again
totally agreed! cĂĄrbh as duit in Ăireann, a chara?

Oh good luck! Yeah I love games but I don't have the money for it these days! My new camera wasn't cheap
I'm too cheap to own a ps3! I've got an xbox and a decent laptop which I use for Fallout. I'm actually reinstalling Oblivion again

SirFuzzyCarl In reply to BrightAndBeautiful [2011-06-10 22:03:50 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, hopefully I actually love math! It's just that the paper they gave today was the hardest in over 10 years! Some of the stuff wasn't even on the course! Oh well, the rest will be fine and then I'll be going on to college. Hopefully I'll have a load of time during summer to make some more pictures!

Oh i see. Dude, if the English language were in numbers and we'd be communicating using numbers then i don't think we'd get along! Haha, this is how much i hate math. Oh well, im sure you'll do well in the rest. What you gona major in? Any idea? I'm in my first year so yeah.

SirFuzzyCarl In reply to BrightAndBeautiful [2011-06-12 14:47:22 +0000 UTC]
Hopefully! Oh, you're gonna hate this but I'm looking to do a 4 year course in astrophysics and then maybe a Ph.D What's your major?

BrightAndBeautiful In reply to SirFuzzyCarl [2011-06-12 19:54:38 +0000 UTC]
Ah no way mate! I love astrophysics! I think if you're really into the major then you should do it without doubts. I'm doing Logistics and supply chain management!

SirFuzzyCarl In reply to BrightAndBeautiful [2011-06-13 20:59:29 +0000 UTC]
Logistics and supply chain managment! And I thought I was odd with astrophysics
Is there not a good bit of maths involved in that?
đ: 0 â©: 1
BrightAndBeautiful In reply to SirFuzzyCarl [2011-06-14 00:22:02 +0000 UTC]
Hahah, its a cool major. Not precisely! If there is, probably just business math. And not that much you know?
