👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SolomonMars In reply to ssxion [2014-09-23 20:15:54 +0000 UTC]

hey!
um... yah, I actually made a short-ish video for a friend of mine from school.
I was showing him how I do my non inking in the computer, but part of the video talks about the steps I take to get rid of the red lines.
it's right here ---> youtu.be/fK0ZR1FCSTY
let me know if it helps at all.

Oh and by the way I cant wait for Goblyn to start back up. I bet there's going to be a huge art bump after all the months of practicing you've been doing.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SolomonMars In reply to coolbreeze88 [2014-09-19 13:35:52 +0000 UTC]

haha
hmm... maybe. hrm... maybe not huge.
but a little.
you know, I can't really tell.
it's hard to notice looking from the inside, out.
it's all happening little by little, day by day,
growing like grass.
the only way i notice is by looking back at older work.
it's mostly like that for all artists. it seems.
tho i do have some friends who obsess all along the way.
too stressful for me. I just wanna' have fun.

but i hope some of it is looking better.
i think it looks cleaner now.
a little.
haha

coolbreeze88 [2014-09-18 03:13:31 +0000 UTC]

smars, you do know that there's more than just the big 2 in the comics publishing world (marvel and DC).

It says right on the Image Comics website that they give you ALL and I mean ALL the creative freedom for your comic (your personally in charge of writing, art direction, font fixing, etc.) while they will just simply publish and it and distribute it after approval.

you can just simply submit your Goblyn comic for review via email on their website. no red tape, just email the PDF and done.

see, I told you I would find you a publisher and yes I think you're ready oh and have fun :3 imagecomics.com/about/submissi…

SolomonMars In reply to coolbreeze88 [2014-09-19 13:30:49 +0000 UTC]

oh yah, I don't even mess with the big two.
I only talk to the other guys.
and I've been sending in submissions packs for years up to recently
but so far, they don't really like any of the series I'm doing or proposing.
and a few times in the past a couple editors at some companies openly admitted
the problem was simply they didn't know how to market me to an audience.
:/

I'll probably be at emerald city comicon when it comes up again to bug them all in person to look at my stuff.
it's a long expensive trip, but I think it will be worth it, if I can get them to listen to what I have to say for even two seconds.

but thanks for looking out.

Well how about for a plan B: ever thought of teaming up with the other independent animators to get your vision realized? 2-3 heads are better than one I always say.

I can think of a couple people you could team up with on deviantart and tumblr alone, I'd say they would be happy to collaborate with you as soon as they get their homework done:

this lady is nice and she animates REALLY WELL.>> kyrakupetsky.tumblr.com/

what about LD? is he just off doing his own thing? he could be a big help if you just asked him at the next comicon.

PS: I could be a great consultant someday.

heres a little something ive found that I think you might find inspiring. you don't need a fancy team or corporate studio behind you.

believe or not this man made an anime entirely on his home computer. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php…

you just need a lot of time and patience is all.

SolomonMars In reply to coolbreeze88 [2014-07-27 10:10:01 +0000 UTC]

ooooh! interesting!
thanks for sharing.

it's really impressive considering the tools he used.
so much really good animtion tech is easily availible now or cheap enough, but then and with those tools? wooo! that's impressive. i really love seeing stuff like this.

yah, i definitely need the time, i have the patience.

coolbreeze88 In reply to SolomonMars [2014-07-27 20:57:33 +0000 UTC]

and if you need help. im more than happy working for you as an unpaid intern . I can color the frames. co-write, and co produce. so Goblin: the animated series would technically be made by 2 people (or 3 people if we could get ventel on board) but each episiode could be made twice as fast and at a higher quality production.

so we would have a great advantage over other one man army web animation. we just have to figure out how were going to coordinate our efforts being so far apart.

who cares what those large media conglomerates want to market. we can make our own  studio. its not going to be incorporated. more of a partnership. besides being a small corporation puts you at risk of being bought out by the conglomerates.

just look at what happened to youtube after just one year after its founding.

so is it a deal. can you and I be official studio partners? you helped me graduate so its about time I help you succeed and achieve your potential.

from this day forth. Sonma Visual Studios is offically born.

if not... well it was worth a shot. friends help friends and im just trying to help you out of the rut.

smars I finnaly found a way you can make money off of your goblin comic. Its called patreon and oh boy isn't it a godsend.

it works like this. you post the url of the work you want shown. it posts it, and patrons plegde a certain amount per day to support you.

with your fan base i'm certain finding patrons wont be problem for you.

here the link to the site>> www.patreon.com

your welcome smars. I know I want to hug you to man.
